I’m sure he’ll let me have a go when we do get out as he’s put me on the ins and hinted I can. I’m happy to passenger normally but I would drive the f40 as it was always my poster car.

I need a new friends group

I’ve not driven it. It doesn’t go out much let’s say and been off the road for a while. I changed the oil and it went for tank inspection but I’ve still got to do the timing belts before it goes out properly this year. Just being around it and working on it is pretty cool though. Just takes time to do stuff as you have to be so careful. The rear clam is crazy heavy and getting in the engine bay doing stuff feels like it’ll kill you if it fell. And you have to be so aware of your movements, parts aren’t cheap exactly. Crazy cars to look over in detail & to think it was available for the road all those years ago. It just looks and feels like a proper race car with some paint thrown over.

Thats amazing!

Is he famous?

I always loved the R33. The Top Secret one that Max Power filmed in Tokyo ensured it was always my favourite Skyline tbh.

The R33 is probably aging the best from been the worst looking one back in the day.

R33 GTR drives well too. Definitely the worst looking GTR though. I would rather have back my R32 but can’t deny the R33 I had drove well.

I saw a mk2 Astra GTE estate today at the Asda, were they a factory thing or was it homemade? It had a fruity sounding exhaust and looked pretty good tbh.

Why the hell would someone bother to custom make one of those? However I've certainly not heard of a factory one.

Nah those weren’t available from the factory

mk1 was 3 door hatch only, I’m sure mk2 was available in both 3 and 5 door

Not weird mate, I love a fast estate! Just seems a bit random for that car, unless it was built a long time ago.

Plenty of people converted the vans back in the day.

Pretty sure there was never a 5 door mk2 gte. Not in the uk at least.

At least the paintwork is not in that horrendous lime green but I don't think I could live with an interior like that in 'just' an M4..
