The GDI clio restoredto former glory

Had a little trip to GDI today to detail the GDI clio, rather badly swirled to say the least!!

Paint after claying

The thickness was a good 150 microns all over which gave me plenty to play with. I compounded with SSR2.5 @2000rpm which cleared most swirls but left a few random scratches - and today thats where they stayed :thumb:

Next up I removed some glorious buffer trails with #80 on the pc to leave a significantly better finish

Process was wash QEW - the look on Andy's face when I said I could wash it inside the workshop was priceless lol. ;)

Sonus gray clay and AG tar remover to rid the paint of the brake dust.

SSR2.5 and #80 on rotary and PC

Finished with megs #21.

The only thing that came close to removing the crust of baked on wheel dust was Meguiars #66 via 4 inch pc pad. The wheels get so hot the plastic dust caps had melted!!!!!! The wheels could not be fully cleaned however and will probably go in for shot blasting.

Sooo nice, that's definitely on my 'to do list' for the summer season!

How long did that take to do?

Cheers guys

It took about 7 hours, using the rotary mind would have taken longer with pc only.

All that lovely shiny blackness and no tyre shine! tut-tut
Looks awsome tho, great work

As I said wasn't worth doing em as the wheels need proper sorting lol!!

I have to say I am seriously impressed with Brazo's service.

the car was in a state due to the PF pad dust all over the bodywork.... (the wheels are beyond fixing now, they need a full refurb)

after 7 hrs of very hard work the paint was dust free and looking better than it had ever looked...

you could run your finger down the paint and not feel a single bit of dirt....

I also have never seen anyone spend the time to mask off the plastics and rubber to stop polish getting into them with the buffer etc

I would have no hesitation recomending anyhow (especially those with brake dust problems) in having this treatment done....

I am hopeing to have my other car done soon as well......

WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND TIME.......

That's what my car looked like after a couple of hours. But then its not a track **** like that one, just a poor little standard 182 that leads a very sheltered life!

Looks fantastic btw.

Thanks for your kind comments guys especially Andy, I'm glad you were pleased.

I will be the first to admit the final finish isn't 100% in all areas but given the state of the paintwork before I think its come out rather well :)
