Yes UK Bug STI's to.....The Bug RA, Spec C and S202 have the VF34 which is the roller bearing version of the VF30 fitted to the JDM bug.

All 3 turbos (30, 34, 35) all had the same size compressor housing but hot side on the 30 and 34 is bigger than the 35....P18 as opposed to the P15

UK STI 7s. (Bugeye STI) came with a VF30, not a 35. Twin scrolls were not on the JDM cars till the version 8.
The JDM cars also came with a quicker ratio steering rack.

Basically.....The JDM has eveything the UK has plus...

The same heads but slightly bigger intake ports.
A VF30 turbo as opposed to the VF35 fitted to the UK (perfomance wise, nothing really in it)
Higher revving cams.
Rear wiper.
Electric folding mirrors.

The engines are the same (apart from the porting and cams) and are no stronger than the UK car.

5k will buy a bug sti but only lightly modded IMO......They really are a cracking car and pound for pound the best Impreza you can buy

sounds like your right, about not getting to hung up on a jdm really, quiet hard to find aren't they? invetigating spec c and s202 now! think i've seen an ra one in white.

My UK Prodrive edition version 7 had a VF30 on it, and yes it was the original turbo that it came from the factory with.

I too thought it was a 35 when I was removing it till I looked closer.
Definitely a VF30, swapped for a 20g, then an FP green, GT3076R, now a GT3582R

Ring brentacre. I pay 600 with 350 excess, 4yr ncb with a ban in 2009 for speeding. Unlimited mods included

Yeah going for performance friction pads which aparantly come highly rated. Needs a couple of bits looking at before the trackday next month.

Just got a quote from btrentacre 599 fully comp on that type r I linked earlier which is very decent IMO

A bit but nothing serious. Pistonheads should work. I'm thinking around 4500 for that white ra but the type r is up for 6k which for a v3 is a bit steep but looks good and fresh engine build. But is it worth 1500 more than that the ra. Both are near Leeds so can look at both and decide.
