My mrs hates them all, I'll just stick one on the drive and face the music then.

Will check insurance on this one tomorrow and compare. Previous one I had to pay £22 to cover the rest of my policy. Which ends in April.

I am seriously considering buying a Version 8 STI, is it honestly worth me spending the bit extra to get the Widetrack and DCCD version?

From what I have been reading it appears there is not that much difference but they seem the better option..

Personally I think the late blobs with DCCD are the ones to go for, they are the last of the 2.0, cheaper tax, depending on how much you pay, I cant see you losing a lot when you come to sell either, decent ones with sensible mileage will sell quickly.

It's mind boggling.. All this twin scroll turbo, JDM or Type UK.. I haven't got a clue what's going on. I am pretty much decided on a V8 Widetrack though. The prices seem to differ hugely though.

Insurance wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be, had a few quotes around the £700 a year region at 25.

So a standard STI of around 280bhp-300bhp.. I am guessing that will feel plenty quick enough on the road? I have never owned a 4WD before and I know they loose a fair amount of power through drivetrain in a straight line.

Mine is supposedly 320bhp and I can confirm that it's plenty. My mate can't keep up in his 535d. Not even close.

They are far from slow those 535d's either.. I am going to try and get a PPP so it's at least over 300bhp, should be happy with that.
