Looks like Blobeye generation - probably a USDM STi.

On reflection, I think it might well be a hawkeye rather than a blobeye.

Afraid not. Im not 100% its WRX, just what the picture was named as so I assumed it was right.

I'm pretty sure it's an STi given the wide box arches although I don't see why you couldn't fit the STi arches to a WRX.

Remember that the STi's full name is the WRX STi too

The one above is a blobeye; replaced mid-way thru 2005 I think. The Hawkeye ran from MY55 to MY07.

Look at the second image of the car I posted and where the orange portion is on the front headlight. It looks like this hawkeye light

Perhaps the rear lights have been changed too or as you say, differ on the USDM?
