The Lunar Grey Mk1 Hybrid Project

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

mate i'm interested! what you previously did was fantastic, keep at it, love your passion and work, make sure you dont coat it with pointless trinkets post respray :)

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

You have a build thread on cliosport? :quiet:

Looking very good dude! Many N-regs have died in much better nick, fair play for injecting another 10 years + life into it.:approve:

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Thanks! Can't wait to see new paint either! It's gonna rock!

No pointless trinkets returning!

Lol the name was a joke...kinda stuck now! Oh well

Winston your right the amount of work I've done is huge...but these are getting harder and harder to find, and as I keep saying "it's better the devil you know". I could go shell hunting believe me at points (floor) I wish I had! But then you have no garantee's either! Most of the damage to mine was hidden behind the sill:-(

The project has got a bit harder no performance-trim are no longer trading, hopefully streamline can help me out!

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Good grief !

Think how much heavier that will be now you've replaced that nice light rust with metal ! :(

Good freakin' effort with the project though ;) !

:approve:

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

I soooo need to do this to mine!

Hats off to you, thats a lot of work!

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Just read thread from start, epic project. Subcribed to thread;)

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

nah man,.l cant afford a carbon roof, and cant afford a new skin, also dont want it welded up and skimmed... most have ended up cracking and looking shite... so having a carbon panel there instead... excited now.. as should be in paint by the end of the week, just dreading the final bill

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

As you can see I seem to of gone over my photobucket bandwidth..... I assume this will sort it's self out at the end of the month.

Saw car last night, door shuts, boot shut, engine bay, boot lid inner, door insides and front wings are all painted :-D

The paint itself i was quite worried I had made the wrong choice, but now I've seen it on the car and seen the depth and richness of the paint I know I've made the right choice. The finish in the bay is better than some of the bodywork finishes ice seen in new Renault sports!

Should collect her Monday (the beginning of my week off) and start putting her back together! Yay!

Also my final bill is less than expected! Bonus!

You will get all the pics then!

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Car now has the following painted and lacquered

Engine bay
Doorshuts
Boot shuts
Inside boot
Inside doors
Front wings
Main body of car

Just waiting for bumpers and bonnet then it's all go!

Body still needs flatting off and polishing but the colour is the digs dangles!

Might pick car up Monday evening, so I can at least start to get lump back in etc pics very soon I promise!

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Zmaster2k, can you pm me with the breakdown of your final bill if possible?

I want to know what its going to cost to get new inner/outer sills and arches repaired.

If you'd rather not say then don't worry. Cheers.

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

I'm just doing my sills on mine now mate. Feel for ya. It's such a big Job! Good to see when people restore these cars rather than just binning the shell for another.

Re: The Definitive Wukbrid Project

Right here come the next pics! The colour wa decided months ago, with conversations with paddy, Danny@519, Snowman, gaz and ronee...as always this lot are my rocks!

the colour is Renault D60 Lunar Grey, as seen on the clio v6 and the megane R.26.R. I was going to be the only clio to be in this colour until i saw a thread on cliosport recently where a clio200 had be sprayed this colour! My heart sank a little.... but im still satisfied with the choice..especially since seeing it on the car...

anyway enough talk... here is the inspiration...
