The Trophy's Replacement - Naples 16v

Evening CS,

As I'm sure a lot of you know, I used to drive Trophy 433:

Which, unfortunately after an incident last month (see http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?655346-RIP-Trophy-433-500), now looks like this:

Now, I loved that car and after spending a small fortune on it just 2 weeks before, I decided enough was enough. Cars just weren't worth it. I just wanted a car; something sensible to get me from A to B...

That thought lasted around 10 minutes.

So yeah, that brings us up to now. Last weekend, Daniel kindly headed up to mine from Bristol to complete the purchase of my 5th clio, a 1994 16v in Naples Red:

I've done over 700 miles in it since and am genuinely loving MK1 ownership. I had a day off today so decided to treat it to a full detail (thanks to Lesley and Chip for the loan of a machine polisher ):

Sorry about the amount of pics, I got carried away!

Plans wise, nothing really. Just keep it as tidy as it is! I do need to paint the brake calipers (which I would've done today if it wasn't for He Man being the last person to tighten the wheels), re-fix the central locking (which I fixed yesterday, then broke again today) and source another centre cap (after these pics were taken I went for a drive, and only returned with 3, ffs). So if anyone knows where I can get one of those, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction :) I may look for a set of turbines at some point too.

Cheers,
Luke.

Looks amazing, and it lived upto expectations when i saw it in the flesh. Great purchase! I'm at a wedding tomorrow, but can pop over Sunday evening to help you get the wheels off if you want, I have a pretty effective breaker bar.

it's not rust lol!

Car looks really smart Luke. Was nice to get chance to have a nosey round it last weekend. Hopefully that won't be the only time I ever see it lol.

Mk 1's look so good compared to modern big styles, and the best colour. I would love to drive that. Stunning.

Silver mint turbines would look great. Looks mint. How u finding the drop in power and torque from the trophy? Drop in a willy lump? ;)

FLOL!!! Might see you in the morning. I've got an early start. Night. x

Still sad for your loss of the trophy mate, but that valver is stunning! black turbines and lows would make it perfect imo :) looks properly tidy daniel!! I may have to buy a car off you at some point :)

I love how you've still managed to make the Trophy look awesome... great pictures!

The Valver: OMG. So, so clean. Only thing I don't really like are the wheels, but they're OEM and therefore are fine.
Love it.

I'm actually livid I don't own this. Very jealous!

Please don't even try turbines. When I had my naples it just simply didn't work on that colour.

Best mine ever looked was on silver Williams wheels - it looked epic.

Another vote for me for the turbines or willy wheels or basically just anything but what's on it.

Take it you got on on with the polisher then? Let me know if you want to borrow a rotary to finish any bits with.

Car and pics look phatt (kids say that I think).

Whatever you do man, for god sake don't use it. It belongs in a museum. Last of the v8s iirc.

Silver Williams wheels for me, would look epic on them.

Looks great though Luke, it's a massive credit to Daniel :) I love a good mk1, I wish my old Williams was in this sort of condition.

Oh that is pretty, I wanted one of these in this very colour, looks so good! Williams wheels!?

Shame about the Trophy :(

Love it!! I hope you have those at high res still..

(I haven't forgotten you btw. I haven't seen my Step-Dad and now he's away for the weekend. Next week. Promise)
