Nice update Tim. Didn't expect that progress but fair play will be great when done

Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus

Not sure how I missed the crash! Though I hope you get it all sorted quick and easy, Tim.

Car will be mental once you've finished with it though.

I'd really struggle not to throttle a c*nt like that in the van.

Nice car though buddy.

Corvette would be cheaper !!!!

I cant even come to think what it will be like when finished. When it was sick it was still a very very quick car. Cant wait for passenger ride round the FletchRing.

Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus

What power are you aiming for Tim?

I'm debating at moment whether to get my turbo hybrid'd now or leave it until next year. Plan is for it to eventually be running 330 to 350bhp. :butt:

Good work Timothy, good work! Going to be epic when done :)

Yes, it will be hopefully.

I'm not sure that catch tank will fit! There's not much room so may have to get a race battery.

As Scott highlighted I'd like 330bhp and anything over would be a bonus.

Thanks Paul, I like to surprise ;)

Wahoo can't wait too see end results .

Enjoy :)

Thanks for sorting the rods and pistons for me.

I didn't post much about the crash, hence why I've hardly updated the thread in a year.

Bloody hell Tim. I knew you were refreshing a few parts, but not creating a new car lol!!

This is gonna be a monster

It was either an M135i or keep this and I decided making the R26 new again is more fun and cheaper lol

I'd really struggle not to throttle a c*nt like that in the van.

Nice car though buddy.

I was more concerned with taking pics of the damage and recording him being aggressive!

Epic progress Tim!!

This thing is going to be awesome.

Sorry to hear about the idiot van driver though.

Cheers Nick, going to have more new parts than your Megane soon :rasp:

Looks a good refresh of almost everything lol

if you hit / throttled the bloke you would say bye to your claim

Not much left to change lol. How is your build going?

Great update Tim :)

Thanks Joe, hopefully we'll be able to do a Ring trip with you and Rob next year!

Corvette would be cheaper !!!!

This is more practical than a Corvette

Hopefully it'll feel the same just much quicker!

Wow!

With 330bhp you'll be able to leave even more people behind....

In all seriousness, you earn waaaay too much money! This is going to be epic!!

Now that sounds like a plan :)

I'll message you once dates for next year are released.

Should go well with 330+ bhp :)

Cheers Fletch :)

Cheers Dan, you are never going to let me live that down! I still blame Gorms and Christopher. for that!

It's a lot of money I'm spending but it makes sense using my man maths. Cheaper than buying a new or low mileage used car with the same performance.

This is the body shop the insurance quote is from and I am intending to use http://www.cartechniksltd.co.uk/gallery

Facebook page has a lot of photos of cars they've done https://www.facebook.com/pages/Car-Techniks/512791502121643

Intention is to get everything apart from the roof resprayed as I don't fancy paying £150 for a new roof decal.

Mega update mate... Car will be epic.

Thanks Chi, hopefully catch up with you at a meet or track day sometime soon.

Thanks Scott, and for the advice on powder coating etc.

You'll be pleased to know my parts are done so will be collecting them tomorrow afternoon.

It hasn't come together as quickly as I'd hoped, originally I wanted to make Llandow.

Having to drive this courtesy car is an incentive to get it done as well.

Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus

Great updates. I need to crack on and finish my engine build!

To get anything over 300hp you'll need to re work the turbo. With a good hybrid TD04 you should see 330hp :)

Its a shame you have to spend so much on meganes to get a safe 300+bhp , Clutch, flywheel.forged engine, hybrid turbo, looking forward to seeing the end result, good work

Surprised you haven't finished yours. Isn't everything pretty much ready to go now?

As Gray says it is possible. Shame Renault didn't make the engine stronger like the Mk3 Meganes.

View attachment 113905 ;) if you believe CS lol

my build is far to slow as baby is due today, so funds are otherwise diverted

350 bhp sounds rather swift, ford ka not so much

LOL

Congratulations on the baby :)

Head is built.

All painting etc. done.

We've moved house recently so once I've sorted the garage I can continue.

Update

In March the front brakes needed doing. I had been running Tarox F2000 grooved discs but didn't fancy paying £250 for a set so went with Brembo HC discs and DS2500 pads from George @G 172

Plans sound great, will be better then ever when it's sorted :approve:

Valves have been installed and powdercoated parts have been collected. I'll post pics up later.

Great update, Tim. Can't beat a bit of forged goodness :) I look forward to seeing the results!

Cheers Andy :)

Thanks George, next day delivery when I ordered them late afternoon was great.

Thats some serious money spent. I got sick of throwing cash at mine and it never went wrong

I'm going to keep it forever now so it's worth it IMO. Unlike most it won't be sold once it's finished.

All of this because because you can't keep up with an old 172 :rasp:

Well @Fletcher's bus is quick :race:

Powdercoated parts are back, pleased with the finish, colour is RAL 9007 Grey Aluminium and has a slight metallic effect which is good.

I'm going to collect the gearbox from Agency Transmissions next Thursday morning, by coincidence I've got a meeting in Birmingham at 11am so work will be paying me to collect it
