Titanium 182 ITB Build

OK well this is over a year overdue but no time like the present eh?

So lets jump right in with the car before the 182,

I had a E36 323 'Vert witch was a lovely car to drive and i kick myself every day for getting rid of it 😧 its truly a different car to the clio but cant dwell on the past so here she is.
999741_10151614472353444_132312140_n.jpg

So after parting with my loved BM on march the 17th 2014 I was fresh faced and bought myself a clio 182
witch im still not 100% sure but I think it only had one cup pack ( Spoiler and splitter) so here she is the night i got it,

1975016_10152237026428444_1479477465_n.jpg

From the word go as with any car it had little niggles so i set about getting these sorted (from memory)

The splitter was cracked
The breaks all round were horrendous
The exhaust was blowing
It had horrid mud flaps :p
Wheels looked bland.

So i got about to getting a set of turni's ( not knowing the value of them at all!!)

1661115_10152309292243444_4226066128739787059_n.jpg

Then a few days following the splitter arrived so whipped it on only a skoda one as i was pretty skint at the time and it was only a tenner!

10277712_10152302542848444_9002354401167509501_n.jpg

I then eased off for a bit as i was in some money problems but soon sorted that all out and then the turinis needed new tyres so me being me thought 'hey why not get new wheels?' and some came up for £200 with decent tyres as I look back I realise why @Richy182. Loved them so much :p

They were a set of cade euros in 16's
10308592_10152312309473444_511066061869816739_n.jpg

Then a few days after I got round to looking at the exhaust on my clio as it started blowing again after i fixed it and found the weld going into the back box had split soI set about getting a new system and hey presto a 2nd hand ktec/janspeed super sport system turned up for cheep and with it being only 4 months old I couldn't say no! I don't have any better pictures than this sadly.
10256007_10152340937208444_7875099789590570095_n.jpg

and that was it for a LONG time really all I did was keep it tip top and cleaned and took photos :p so here's a few of it clean.

10291839_10152356935783444_817022500033629248_n.jpg

10356344_10152356723948444_8565093845757048468_n.jpg

Then on may the 29th 2014 I did the most stupidest silly thing any clio sport owner can possibly do......

It went to K-Tec for a remap.....
With pops and bangs...

10390443_10152396092878444_7984429090654328051_n.jpg

10390053_10152396379088444_2163844675046620053_n.jpg

They said after witch I still don't believe made 184bhp and 165ft pounds
Worst decision ever.....

Then I pretty much left the car is it is until recently when I've caught the bug again and started spending money on it.

After getting asked everyday by @Richy182. when im getting new wheels i did got some turinis in grey and i love them!

Well worth the 9 hour round trip to get them!

Here's when i first got them on.

10428417_10153098457448444_7759629449458757374_n.jpg

Then after this the headlights looks in poor shape and the front end needed a freshen up so I booked in in to SouthWest Tints for headlight restoration and a spot of wrapping one of the best things I've done to my car really freshened it up!!

11136709_10153129214218444_5552179416051274922_n.jpg

And then as of late I've bought myself a new engine to go in as this one is pushing on 118K as we speak so i got one with 74k on for a steal :) here's the removal of my new engine.
1610919_10153204030858444_3204693630075395913_n.jpg

A ball ache and a half that is!!

After this I've bought my self a 'FATTYS' induction set up and for the money you pay its well worth it! slight pig to fit as the pipe didn't wanna go in the filter but after a few swear words later its in and fitted :)
11295666_10153242676288444_920887363945929481_n.jpg

And this brings us up to my latest buy for the clio,
A set of megane LUX full leather recaros.
(witch I also think I got a good deal on)

11108188_10153242676388444_4600167623360899758_n.jpg

10409667_10153242676463444_3638760971817705870_n.jpg

I've got the rails sat ready to go just got one of the seats booked in to get the damaged fixed and reupholstered so excited to fit them :D

Also I've had a remap put on since the ktec one as i want to keep my new engine healthy so after much recommendation i went to see @Dan@SJM
And wow his map really shows how rubbish the ktec one was!

And well that's it to present day gave it a good clean last night and im about to go wax it now :)
so these are the latest pictures of it :)

11253690_10153242683248444_2081836762139732339_n.jpg

Will keep this updated from now on :)
Looking forward to meeting some of you guys at future events.

well the meg recaros are in :) and im chuffed to buggery here's a fitted pic,

11230975_10153278359458444_8762214953075440354_n.jpg

and a before and after of the repair job that had to be done,
Before-
11329832_10153278359823444_621874260844673821_n.jpg

After,
11391113_10153278359698444_2895385306522278507_n.jpg

He did a pretty good job of the repair so have a mint set of seats now , Orderd a half roll cage this morning as well so waiting on that next to be fitted :D

Nice little updates I was glad you put it back on the Turini's. Those seats are beautiful. Just need a new thumb grip on that steering wheel.

Well i've been slacking in the update department and theres been a lot of changes to the humble little clio, So after reading about a past group buy on some rear roll cages i got myself thinking and decided to get ahold of the man who makes them directly through ebay and asked him if he'd build me one and he even offerd me a little discount for being a cs.net member witch was cool :) so i placed my order for a rear cage with a X brace and harness bars. The worst bit was waiting for it to turn up! eventually it got to my house a week later so i straight away started stripping the packaging tape off (witch was a nightmare)
1506738_10153317762263444_6536122503984081697_n.jpg

i then decided to just get a few coats of hammerite on it to just freshen it up,
11137140_10153317762083444_2072471513737256163_n.jpg

So after a few days of waiting for it to dry properly i some how managed to fit the cage in my car and was off to pick up @Richy182. as he offerd to help me fit it need less to say with a cage lyeing down in the back of a clio and hanging out the boot it didd'nt make for a comfy trip to richys house. But heres my bestst selfie face with a cage crammed in the back.
11406729_10153317777893444_1169087147378577964_n.jpg

After getting to @Richy182. we started fitting the cage witch was a little bit of a pain but easy enough.
10363230_10153317761498444_706205071774779828_n.jpg

21020_10153317761383444_5767653703068738394_n.jpg

So with the cage fitted in the back buying a set of harnesses was really really biteing away at me so at the monthly south west clio meet i took my phone out and bought a set :p
2 days later i get this in the post,
11407163_10153317760868444_5259885939036100899_n.jpg

So they got fitted that night and im really happy with how they look aganst the leather trendlines and black cage.

1538913_10153317760483444_2043643670181456299_n.jpg

And that brings me upto date, the next on the list for next payday is either a private numberplate or a rear mat to cove the exposed metal and maybe sort out a new steering wheel.

Small update time,
So after seeing the fog light blanks fitted on @Richy182. s car I wanted a set and found some :)
Fitted them at the weekend with some help from @Richy182. and @Dan@SJM and while the bumper was off changed the bulbs to some 5k HID bulbs and I like the way the front looks now,

11011222_10153368068888444_3591216535026304529_n.jpg

Also bought myself a lovely runabout car at the weekend, a lovely 1.8 51 plate astra, its a beast haha
11202434_10153368088833444_2008023391792061152_n.jpg

Saves putting work miles ect on the clio now win win :)

How did you fit the cage mate? Weld plates in? About to order the same one and well some help would be appreciated hah

  Clio 182
literally allbwr did mate was take the front seats out position the cage in place drilled the holes through, and bolted it up with the spreader plates on the other side.
Silly question maybe. Did you put the spreader plates under the the foot of the cage?

  Clio 182
If you get stuck pm me and I'll get you a few picture's , if you get the fitting kit I found that the bolts supplied were a tad short so I got some longer ones at screwfix mate.
Cheers! It's just the spreader plates thats confusing me at the moment aha! I'll sort some bolts out then

So a bit of a big update,

So after getting that spare engine out completely ( yes I know it took ages)
11745444_10153395323738444_3800022047793736164_n.jpg

i had a little think abut while its out how can i get the best from this engine and for it to still be reliable, Then a set of ITB's poped up on cs.net.
After a little think I decided to do it and bought them, as this was going on my friend @Richy182. started to break his turbo set up so I bought a few goodies from him aswell so I've got a freshly rebuild head with supertec valves :)
11707345_10153395324653444_6111542998458604596_n.jpg

Crap picture but that's when we just took it out and I also bought his standalone ECU
11144440_10153395348168444_8829841377802254933_n.jpg

I also bought a few other goodies from him a PMS air-con delete kit and a battery relocation kit.

So the bodies witch i bought from @dinger should hopefully be here this week, let the fun begin :D

Been slightly slacking lately due to doing the garden work at my house, but now its done its time to crack on again.

So a whole load of parts have arrived at mine and its getting me more and more excited!!

So the jenvy bodies turn up firstly,
ATTACH]
20150722_171454_HDR_zpsh94ko2mg.jpg~original

So need to clean them up and whatnot but that's one of the end jobs

then the areo catches and the 421 catcams :)
20150805_195040_HDR2_zps6dciqdq8.jpg

20150731_122029_HDR_zpskmgdf2mf.jpg

So then the new engine got put up on the stand a commenced the stripping,
20150730_230737_HDR_zpsaslptsmz.jpg

20150731_145546_HDR_zps4liiulrp.jpg

So all was going well right up until the LAST head bolt decided that the head wanted to snap off, witch was a head ache, had to drill off the remaining part of the bolt and lift the head off.
20150803_204639_HDR_zpsqolel32v.jpg

Plenty of aggro later the head was off,
20150803_213248_HDR_zpsdyaiqlrg.jpg

So next is waiting on the ARP rod bolts swap them over then its all head work left,
Here's a off topic pic of how useful a clio is as being a van.
20150804_180953_HDR_zpsosugbmln.jpg

So this is how its left at the moment waiting on parts so more to follow :D
Exciting times!

Slow progress on this at the moment but progress is progress,

  • 20150818_195951_HDR_zpsx3vbrbzb.jpg

I then proceeded to remove the sump and found out where i attached it to the engine stand there was two bolts going through the sump, so i had to remove it from the stand and place it on a bench.
    20150818_204428_HDR_zpsrkavu9zd.jpg

Then i whiped the sump off ready for the next time i can get down there,
