loud grumble on right turn under load. Having never experienced French problems before a few guys at the track came out for a lap and came up with the tri bearing on the end of the shaft as seemingly they can get very noisy before they go..... there doesn't seem to be any play on the wheel bearings to be fair, but I may just change them out regardless as a bit of preventative maintenance.......bit unlucky on the track day,, looks like the show was great tho... what are the symptons for your diagnosis of possible driveshaft wheel bearing... will add it to my list of possible preventative maintenance spares..
cheers
Well shaft changed! - no sign of any issue on the bearings to the box end, but the CV joint did feel a little loose compared to the new one (as you would expect).... Initial spin round the block and all seems silent, but it will need track to determine if it's fixed or not! Must get something planned as the next outing is the CSOC Performance French night, with a magazine photo shoot I'm told, but that's not until the 29th August 🙈!!loud grumble on right turn under load. Spot on mate, i take it starting won't be an issue?Forgot about the track evening, I should be doing the full day open pit on the 29th so might see you there afterwards
How are you getting on with the JMT battery on this? Still ok?
I've been looking on eBay and found these two:

Are they similar to what you have?
Cheers Andy. No Not yet. Trial fitted and massive clearance so perfect. Was worried as they came in 38 off set and not 35mm as ordered, which was the reason for selling the grey 1.2s (every mm counts with the Brembo conversion) but really happy.wheels look great, got em on the car yet?
Yeah that's similar mate.
Battery is perfect, never missed a beat all year, Fraser has no complaints either. I believe a few other guys have got them too now.
Only thing I do is isolate it between uses. as if left on the alarm will run it down within a fortnight, but two minutes running and it's full charged again.
No complaints at all
The high power Subaru's at KNOCKHILL use the same battery seemingly :up:I'll have a look back. It looks like my Escort needs something a bit more meaty than a Clio so will have to look into what other types they do.
Cheees mateSaw your car in one of Chi/Gav's pics and it looks amazing, it's what I'm looking to get mine at! Was asking them what you ran front end wise because it looks so good, surprised you only run 10mm front spacers as well, I run 16mm and it doesn't look as wide. How much camber you running up front?
He's on roll centre hubs as well which add another 10mm track width overall.Saw your car in one of Chi/Gav's pics and it looks amazing, it's what I'm looking to get mine at! This is true.... didn't think it added that much though:smile: :up:He's on roll centre hubs as well which add another 10mm track width overall.
Yeah 5mm per wheel mate. :up:This is true.... didn't think it added that much though:smile:
Makes a bit more sense now, I didn't know the roll centre hubs were wider, I really want a set but a bit out of price range atm and hard to get hold of!This is true.... didn't think it added that much though:smile:
In those photos it most possibly was running more. I was taking too much out of the tyres and didn't feel that much benefit, so I've started taking some off. AFTER box n diff next year it will be going in for geo and corner weight set up so I'll see what suits at that time :grin:Makes a bit more sense now, I didn't know the roll centre hubs were wider, I really want a set but a bit out of price range atm and hard to get hold of!
See here's a pic of mine with the TD 1.2 (I'm not 100% sure on offset as they were second hand, previous owner didn't know and in behind the wheels where it normally says it is unreadable now) and 16mm spacers, I think the wheel is slightly turned but still sits nowhere near as nice, I run 3 degrees camber as well, looks like yours is so much more cambered too, racecar stance.
Roll centre hubs are currently being done again mate. I'm the one who designed and sells them, so let me know if you're wanting a set. :up:Makes a bit more sense now, I didn't know the roll centre hubs were wider, I really want a set but a bit out of price range atm and hard to get hold of!

My 3 degrees feels good, especially on a fast corner like corham at Snetterton where you get a fair bit of lean and its where it will make the most out of the camber however sometimes I do feel like I should be taking some off as well. Would be interesting to actually test tyre temperatures and see what kind of camber actually suits best.In those photos it most possibly was running more. Sounds like good news that they aren't extinct then, are they the Laguna hubs that are used similarly to the cup racers or the Clio hubs? What price are they?Roll centre hubs are currently being done again mate. I'm the one who designed and sells them, so let me know if you're wanting a set.
Thanks mateThis is an awesome car
Can't say enough about these. Point and shoot after fitment and the car seems so much more planted and controllable :up:Roll centre hubs are currently being done again mate. I'm the one who designed and sells them, so let me know if you're wanting a set.
No mate we modify the original hubs that are fitted to your car. No need to mess around modifying strut casings then. You want to try driving a mk3 mate! They're even better!!Can't say enough about these. Point and shoot after fitment and the car seems so much more planted and controllable
I know I had a shot of Fraser's red 197..... out the box and unmodified amazing!! Hence the thought of selling #381 and starting over again......🙈You want to try driving a mk3 mate! They're even better!!
