Trade 172 purchase - cam belt

I am looking into buying a 172 (some of you know, and if you are selling a 172FF silver between 5k - 6k let me know ) and have one in mind trade.

It is an '03 plate with 43k on the clock. So the Cam belt will need changing in a year or so, and the garage offers a 12 month guarantee.

If it happens that the car turns 6 within a year of purcahsing it from the garage, can i force the cost of the cam change onto them?

as i dont think i will be able to haggle on the price to compensate for the cam belt as it is a year away, but dont reali wanna pay 450 odd if i can help it for obvious reasons?

5 years or 72,000 miles for the cambelt so should have been done

ask them if its been done and if not, fix a price and say ill buy it for this if so and so gets done, 9 times outa 10 they will say yes and agree to your terms.

at the end of the day garages just want a sale, so they will more than likely do the work you request.

To be honest mate id buy one privatley with fsh and the cambelt done, at least you know theres piece of mind and ur not gonna get screwed about.

Buy one off here atleast you know itll have been cherished and loved!
