That trophy will not die!! Strong little beast that one! What mileage is it on now?

As many have said that lockup is awesome :) Awesome cars there, but that escort cosworth, oh my :)

Sticky is keeping well Chip, I speak to him a lot and still see him from time to time.
aiming to see him at donnington end of the month.
Gaz, are you going mate?

i think the car is still on 187k, or there abouts, I will double check when I go back down to the unit.
hoping to get it in to a mates for a few bits of paintwork and cagework before the beds trackday, but time will tell.

This is a really lame bump to this thread, but i should really pull my finger out and update it.
ill start up loading and taking a few more pics to bring the thread up to speed :)

Ha ha, no.
it drove home when I picked it up, placed in the unit for the work and not seen daylight since!
it will take a long time to hit 200k as its only ever going to come out for trackdays.

Just had a nice little read of this :) Roll on the update

Behind as always with the updates, a few pictures to catch up on.

car has been in this week to a friends to have the cage feet fabricated and welded into place, followed by a rear strut brace welded in between the turrets to also double up as a harness bar.
followed by the new BTM system being fitted and a geometry setup.

today I've set about removing all of the sound deadening which is a PITA to remove, but slowly getting there :)

a few random pics:

Withoutabix, at present I have the OMP subframes, when I have a little more time ill have proper rails welded in so i can get the seat a little lower aswell.
just need the time to spend on it working out where exactly to put them to et it right for my seating position.

Looks brilliant and it's only going to get better, i seem to see you pop up in every for sale thread with any decent parts going atm lol.

Great job Kelv, I like it, a lot. I also like the subtle details like the black Trophy sticker etc. Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh at Bedford. What size / offset are the 2118s, and are you running any spacers? They look perfect.

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
Cheers buddy.

the 2118's are 7x15 and et43, i am however running a slim 5mm H&R spacer just to fill the arches that bit better.

attached the back end of the car today with the angle grinder, cut off all seat mounting points and hooks, along with any bracket that wasn't flush.
tomorrow to grind them all down as smooth as possible and aim to give a light dusting of paint over the weekend.

Bobby, that's me, lol.
i know exactly what parts i want, but its just trying to justify them all at once and in what order.
i think one of the next bigger purchases will be a Quaife Diff :)

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
Oli, I've had 2 front wheel drive cars in the past running ATB's, and 2 x 4wd Cossies running both diffs as ATB's in the past and I've always felt comfortable with the way they are with my driving style.
It also helps that we have a gearbox and transmission specialist about a mile from our unit who has always looked after us and he is a Quiafe dealer aswell, so it aids the issue if fitment and after sales assistance should there be a hiccup.

i won't point blank rule the gripper diff out of the options but I haven't experienced one first hand so it's a bit unfair for me have an opinion or comparison on them.

Kelv, I see you post on another thread but though I'd reply in here seen as I'm viewing this thread. The jamsport wilwood kit uses pagid discs but there modified on the bolt holes. I an get a pic if you wanted?

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
I whizzed the discs off the car last night Mark, found the Pagid code and going to pick up a new set later and have them redrilled.
they will do the job short term as replacements but I'm certainly going to look into the 'bell and rotor' options once I know the rest of the car is conquered.

cheers ;)

Polycarbonate door panels fitted, few more fixings required once the rivnut tool comes back from a mate.
wiring just dropped through the door cards for now until another mate can mould in a decent mount for the switches, but they will do for now :)

a few other bits achieved but forgot to photograph.
all the cut of seat mount brackets and random lugs in the cars floor have now been ground down so they are smooth and flush with the main panels and then given a quick dusting in primer ahead of the weekends tasks, pics to follow tomorrow.

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
Mark, don't ask, it's one of those 'K-Tec' things.
For some daft reason the panels are moulded that way, and the handle sections don't even line up properly as the moulded sections are about 3/4" further forward than the factory position :(

a bit of jiggery pokery with the dremel to elongate the mounting hole, and a gentle but of manipulation to the panel to allow the handle to fit to suit the panels, but you have to use the handles from the opposite sides then turned upside down.

all a bit peculiar but it will do the task thats required.

Today, after a big if running around picking up the trailer and then dropping the Escort off for its new straight cut box and GT30, we finally set a couple of hours aside for the clio.

roof lining now gone, a few cables re-routed, cage finally bolted back in properly.
