#Under 8

I think this reinforces how RS have moved away from the Clio as being a true genuine RS model.

On the Megane they'll throw expensive and undoubtedly firm dampers at it, give it some proper rubber, save a little weight with some expensive options, make it sharp and focussed.

Until they show similar effort on the Clio it's dead as a true RS model IMO...and Jeremy as good as confirmed that there's nothing planned mechanically for the Clio this year. If you want a new RS hot-hatch you're looking at the thick end of £30k.

Such a shame.

I love it. I personally think it's way cooler and more special than the 182 Trophy.

Is the comment in that link about Renault only selling 45 Megane RS models in the UK last year true?

No idea. Renault never publish sales data until end of production for that model then it gets updated to the Heritage section of their website.

I know it's nothing to go by, but ktec just posted that they 'may have to get one of these and spec one with the online and akra'

...they are options?! Ktr have to have it wrong, right?

Titanium exhaust, cage etc were all options with the .R So it could be a similar scenario with this.

Yeah all the fancy stuff is optional, no prices for base car or options yet though. Need more info but I'll be very impressed to see if go under 8 at the ring with hardly and more power or much less weight than the 265trophy.

Love how the megane has evolved and picked up performance along the way. A change of suspension, decent exhaust (which was always a downer leading to loads of people removing the centre silencer for more character), more power, stickier rubber and a fresh interior.

Desperately needs a price list.

The 10hp upgrade, Cup chassis with limited-slip diff and Akrapovic exhaust are included in the standard spec.

If they are an option, it's a monumental joke, releasing a special edition then leaving you to spec the things which make it special.

what you're buying is a 265 with a map and some stickers, what you need to spec are the suspension developed for the car and the exhaust which they've been advertising as part of the car.

Terrible show, Renault.

Surprised? Isn't this a facelift over the 265 also?

Its no different than the R26.R was, all the juicy bits on that were optional too.

It comes with the Akrapovic titanium exhaust as standard.
