Uprated engine mounts

  MKV GTI
Hi all,

As my current choclate engine mounts are worn what are the best to go for? I have seen good reviews of the ktec "group n" mounts but am a bit unsure as many people have said they produce excessive vibration? Also I was always under the impression that proper group n mounts were very expensive and not as cheap as the ktec ones maybe wrong though!

Basically my question is are they really that good and do they transform the overall feel and tightness of the car as people have said or would I not notice any difference over standard?? Also is it worth getting an uprated powerflex dogbone mount at the same time along with the upper and lower gearbox mounts?

The k-tec mounts, aren't group n mounts. They work very well and stop a hell of a lot of engine movement, but they do produce a bit more vibration.

You can also hear the engine a bit more in the cabin

That is why I am sceptical of the supposed group n mounts as I know they are very expensive. However they are advertised as group n on the ktec website iirc?

Also why do they produce more noise I thought that if the mounts were solid it would reduce vibration and noise??

  Dodgy one
Explain?!

If they are fitted incorrectly as Danny says ;)

I shall update next week at the latest, Ordered a set tonight

They are advertised as Group N however from what i've read they arent and dont carry any form of stamp to show, Just uprated and stiffer
