Very jealous of the workshop mate, you are a lucky man!

Good job on the pipe work too. PTFE tape should have been fine. Did you use enough and tighten them up enough?

Is the workshop at your house on somewhere else?

Cheers, yeah I used 5 rolls in total, still didn't seal. The pipe threader I have is a manual one, so it might be doing slightly different dimensions to the joints? I also tightened them FT but still didn't work, as you can imagine I was gutted when they leaked in places. Yeah it's on the farm mate, so only 50 yards from the house :approve:

Alan quoted around 7 days for delivery, I'm quite excited TBH. I may spray the interior as well, same colour as the outside of the car.

I would if you have the patience, would just make it that much more 'finished' imo. Great garage, wish one at Mam and Dads farm was that tidy xD

Thanks Keith, This shed used to be a pig shed. There were walls inside splitting different groups, I blocked up the outside walls, knocked down the internal walls and cut a big space for the door at the front. This shed has took me hours to complete, even made the pit myself -

Very good work mate. I've got a farmer mate and he's the same with sheds and doing all the work himself.

quality read mate, car looks all good. I just stripped out my rb 182 cup, i've also got a set of bimarcos in, but my side mounts are slightly to wide so have currently got spacers in as dnt want to strain and crack the seat or bend the side mounts. How do the side mounts on your seats fit? What subframe / side mounts did you use? and where did you get them from? Sorry if this info is in the thread did kind of flick through. Cheers

Thanks for the comments, my side mounts and subframe are both OMP, got them from Demon Tweeks. Mine also didn't fit, I drilled new holes in the subframe and made them fit. Really poorly designed these OMP subframes

Not sure who made my subframes and side mounts as they came with the seats but i had to use spacers inbetween the side mount and seat as the side mounts were to wide for the seat.

hadnt actually finished writing then but the cpu just posted it! Have been looking for a subframe and side mounts that are not universal but specifically designed for the bimarcos and the clio.... have yet to find anything. Are your side mounts tight to the seats?

Yes mate, but only after I drilled additional holes in the subframe

So the cage arrived last Friday, the welds and quality are great TBH. It's going to be painted white by myself within the next few weeks, hopefully it will go well with the 2118's

cage is white yes. Interior will be mondial blue

So I sanded the cage today, with 600 wet and dry paper. Took 3 hours, it's smooth and ready now. I got the paint ready and turned out the spray gun had packed in :banghead: It was ancient any way and I never stripped it down for cleaning really. I've ordered a gravity fed one from eBay including a cleaning kit. I'll take extra care with the new one.

Cage as it stands -

Had a bit of time free today, so I removed the front seats and harnesses. Put the cage in, went in easily from the passenger side. Placed the cage exactly where it looked level. Marked the holes with a pencil and used a small drill bit first and then a larger one. All 10 holes line up perfectly, so next step is to get some spreader plates and it will be ready to fit. Hopefully the new spray gun will be with me tomorrow. Pics below -

I finished the last coat on the cage last Thursday, in between coats I was grinding the unnecessary brackets off inside the car -

It looks so much tidier now. Yesterday I removed the seat frames and the top dash, I need to remove the lower part of the dash this week. Plan is to remove the big sound deadening that is tucked behind the dash. Then I need to mask inside of the car and key the surface ready for painting.
