V6 is gone! happy days!

Any fool should know to do a check on a vehicle to see if it is HPI clear or has been involved in any accidents.....

Kinda fundamental to purchasing a second hand car but has to be said selling a car contrary to what it actually is with regard history is deceitful
 
Lol Funky Muppet-they do say wot goes around, comes around. I work in Chelmsford so i,ll keep an eye out for it,if its still in the area. You should all know Adam by now,he doesnt give a sh*t lol
 
Trying to con people in to thinking his V6 was a straight one stinks of scumbag... coming on here mouthing off about how much of a good deal he's got, and a bad deal the buyer got stinks of scumbag

I believe it was sold as catergorised.
I will emphasise what I have already said, there was always going to be profit in this car due to the fact he got it for such a good price in the first place.
IIRC he payed like £6k FFS its obviously worth twice that even as a CAT D.
And yes he did advertise it before without declaring the fact, admittably that was a little immoral but had it was only a Cat D because it was a Vee and parts are so expensive, any other car for example you would of got it repaired and never mentioned a thing.
ColinG on here has just upgraded to a TT, he had a little off in his but repaired it out of his own pocket rather than going through the insurance, had he gone through the insurance his may well have been a cat d.
 
people are jumping to conclusions... Im sure Adam sold the car honestly.

As said, this car was always going to be sold at a profit due to what he paid in the first place!

Just a few points I would like to make, as there is SOOOO much incorrect info you boys have.

Ok I first put the car up at 14,999 about 6-8 months ago. Correct I didn't advertise it as CAT D, so what? The car was 2-3k under list price, people would know just by the price, plus if you had been one of the many who rang up and asked if it was damaged or had a crash, I fully explained to them what happened. Point Closed.

The car was repaired by Renault, with new Renault parts and all the receipts & invoices can be seen (including previous damaged pictures) + has valid warranty which can still be extended.

So please every just shut the f**k up, because you really don’t have a clue. Point closed.

As for the new buyer - He done all his checks & spoke to Renault, he was happy and bought the car for a fair price.

But anyway, discussion over!

32,000 miles
Full service history
Serviced every 2k miles from new
Major 24k service done at Renault Harlow dealer.

Warranty-

Warranty until Jan 08, 1 Years extended warranty available.
Engine coils, flywheel, diff, clutch, gearbox & steering system have all recently been replaced from new by Renault.

Car is currently registered as CatD (light damage) all parts needed were purchased new from Renault & repaired via a Renault v6 specialist. Pictures of the damage, receipts & bills of the work carried out can be seen.

End.

To be fair, thats the text from the ad. It does clearly state that its cat d.

Are you getting a M3 then?
 
Never see what the problem was to begin with. Give the guy a break, it clearly stated in the advert that it was cat D. Anyone on here despite what they say would have done the same!
 
The main point to me was that even if the advert DIDN'T state it was category D, that is down to the buyer to find out when they carry out their normal due diligence - yet everyone was calling Adam a c***.

Contrast that with my thread about my made up bad neighbours, which had most people saying sell your house and run - and don't tell anything to the buyers - you don't have to. That is far far worse than getting offered and accepting £2k more than your car is worth.

Double standards are rife.

I think the real problem here though is that you tried to sell the car for the same amount as a straight one knowing quite well it was a cat d, all in the name of making a profit...

Didnt endear you to many people on here I dont think as you were being greedy...

Liars always get found out and unfortunately you found that out the hard way..

To not state it was a Cat D verges on the criminal in my opinion, regardless of anything else. It is not something like condition of the mats which doesn't really matter, the fact is a car that has been in an accident to cause the damage probably isn't the same car as it was before and would affect the resale after regardless of how good the repair is.

I like good business, but I would regard this at best as dishonest, at worst criminal. Putting money before people is not cool in my opinion and I shouldn't think many people who take business seriously would trust you either Subway. Not cool dude :nono:]

Edit: Did the ad mention it was Cat D? If so then I appologise.

Cars are normally sold on an 'as is basis' so if it looks and runs okay, then off you go none the wiser. It's up to the buyer to do an HPI check. If I was buying ANY car of reasonable value i'd do an HPI check.

But, the insurer needs to be informed that it is cat D! so buyer really must conduct due dilligence, be very foolish not to in my opinion.
