Vehicle trackers

  SLK 350
My old man just bought a Boxster S, and the insurance company are stating it isn't covered for theft if a tracker isn't fitted.

I've done a forum search and am aware of the RAC trackstar/Tracker products, but I was wondering if anybody knew of any online retailers for trackers around £300 or cheaper.

Thanks a lot.

Funnily enough i bought my 172 from a guy upgrading to the Boxster S and he said the same thing! Same for basically any group 19/20 car thesedays.

I had a Cobra tracking system on my Mini which is probably cheaper than the equivalent RAC/Tracker product but then i was disappointed to get a flimsy membership card and a confirmation letter. My dad's car has a Tracker and the support seems more professional.

Remember to compare stuff like if coverage is in Europe and check stuff like if there is a back up system for when cars are nicked and stored in containers/underground/tunnels.

I was contemplating one of those after reading about somebody on here who had their 172 cup nicked.
As for all cars in grp 19/20 needing trackers, that's not strictly true. My Mum has a Honda S2000, that's grp 20, but she doesn't need a tracker for the insurance. I think it very much depends on the insurer.
