VikkiB's 2nd 172.

Well, after tipping the black one over, she needed a replacement. And as the black one held up so well she felt safe in another one.

Here's the mess of the black one.

And here's the replacement.

Collected it today, due to a very badly frayed aux belt that somehow has avoided the cambelt. And I'm no lucky man so I certainly wasn't risking driving it home.

Plans are take the following from the black one:
197 cams
Yozza
Cup spoiler
Refurb the 2118's

Replace the belts and dephaser this week amongst other things. And then drive it for a week to create a snag list.

H&R's from chip, and a remap.

Jesus Dan didn't realise it was the mrs' car you were breaking, how did she manage that one?

Replacement looks good, silver ones are awesome, it's a timeless colour.

Was unfortunate, completely dry road, up to the corner where she crashed, which was greasy to the point of being slippery under my feet. It looks to have snapped round on her as it's a 100yard bend and she was less than half way round it where it's gone into the grass bank.

Lack of driving talent? :p

Nah - just kidding of course, I know Vikki can drive perfectly well! It was a bit of a shock hearing the news and seeing the aftermath, but extremely happy to hear that no serious harm was done. Good luck with the brusising and tenderness and I hope Wurzle is good to you. :) See you guys soon!

No, haven't got the stealth yet. Picking it up Saturday so I've got time to map it next week. I've done a datalog with it and there's certainly power to be made from it. Down in the 12.0 - 11.8 range up from 6500-7200, and in the 4000-6500 range it's up in the mid to high 13's.

I fitted some to Clarkeys 172 recently and even with a restrictive inlet and a knackered U/S H02 it still did +10hp over standard on standard inlet so with those bits fixed I expect it to make a smidge over 180hp

Well I've had the opportunity to get this mapped now, 7600rpm rev limit, it pulls like a train tbh, like goes *really* well.

Current spec:
Suspension/wheels/tyres
H&R coilovers
New OEM Top mounts with revised spacer
Eibach camber bolts
OZ f1's with pilot sport 3's
SJM alignment settings

Engine
Yozza cat back
Decat
197 cams
ITG Panel filter
SJM Custom Remap

Exterior
Standard
Cup spoiler

Interior
Retro fitted cruise control.

We did Bedford in it, following me with the van and trailer Vikki managed an average of 48mpg!

Car again performs faultlessly, tbh in the wet conditions of the morning I'd say I was able to lap quicker than in my supercharged one.

A few pics...

Dan, are the gains worth removing the belt etc or is it something which is only worth doing on a belt change? For general public not a self mechanic/specialist i.e labour costs etc.
