What stuff to use to seal the end cap bearing?

On the internet someone is suggesting ‘RTV Sealant’ which is a 2 part rubber type mix, but what is the best stuff to use thats readily available?

As above, Loctite instant gasket, it is the shiznitz!! Just be sure to shut it off when you've finished with the valve and replace the end cap

Retails around £20 for a tube that will do all you need and then some.
