whats the fastest NA clio in the uk?

  VRS
fastest in what sense ben? 1/4 mile round track or do you mean bhp?

also do you mean 2.0 rs's or are v6's included?

Is this restricted to 2.0? Otherwise James' Vee is over 300bhp and will be over 350bhp once he's finished.

For 2.0 Clio's, prolly Andy's or Yozza's... although in a couple of months they wont be ;)

  178hp 172 Cup
the old supercharged vee with the sequentual box was quick!! the yoz cup is a fast car too!! i hear the k tec turbo 172 is quick too but it didn't look too fast at FCS!!

who's James? Thought Martin's 13.1 @ 108mph was the quickest NA time?

it's a bit of a tricky subject, as the Mk1's will ALWAYS be faster based on the fact they weigh next to nothing. You can get them down to 800kg's and all the need is 200bhp and they will fly. 200bhp in a Mk2 is good, but not even as quick as a cammed and remapped Williams/Hybrid

  BMW M135i
That white stripped Mk1 with the bodied williams lump was about 240bhp I think (can't remember whos it was), that must shift pretty well.

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo
As far as I know..... might well be something faster which is'nt known on the t'internet though.

hmm who cars if its N/A.? its all about the fastest car. N/A or forced IMO. if ppl make excuses that its N/A and lost to a forced car.they know what they have to do lol..

Any old monkey can slap on a blower (of either description) and add another 50 bhp+ and state that their car is brilliant and faster. Not any old engine builder can build a n/a car that runs properly and is powerful though. It's an art form.

Besides which, I've yet to go on track in a turbo car that was better handling or quicker than a n/a as a rule. I'm sure Yoz might agree as well, given his "weedy" 250 bhp 172 cup...

that maybe so, but the topic of conversation is the FASTEST N/A CLIO, it's not about making excuses. With turbo's the power is almost limitless, with N/A there's more of an art to extracting the power reliably and without having an F1 engine build bill at the end of it all.

  Clio v6
Would also be nice to see vids of these fast N/A Clios. ( but not just looking through the windscreen )

well the monkey will be the N/A builder spending thousands of pound never to see 300bhp or close?. where u can get it easy with a turbo.

im sure there are 100s of faster turbo cars then a 250bhp N/A clio.think of all the skylines and evos there are with silly power.or looks at the TOTB circit times from all classes.and look at the 1/4 mile times.is there even any N/A cars that enter it? i bet very few do.

strokes for folks i guess. some people want big power and some want N/A

im sure N/A cars pushing them to there limits (270bhp)? isnt going to be cheap in parts.the same as a 350+bhp turbo isnt.depending who does it.

but who cares about art if your going slower? i know the person in front wont worry about it much.

turbo's are great for chavs that like to "wind up da boost y0!", but I'd rather have a slower 270bhp NA car than a blown 350bhp laggy on/off turbo that is completely undrivable and useless on a track or road for that matter. I'll stick to my used daily and 100% reliable, but slower NA thanks, I live to have power from 2-8k

hmm un driveable 350bhp car?? mapping a turbo car is a art!;) and turbo cars chav? have u seen how many chavs own N/A cars? with v-tec yo.? i think you will find all the FASTEST cars are turbos. id rather have alittle lag with a turbo then never ending lag with N/A lol.

there is nothing wrong with N/A. it justs cost alot of money to not go that fast.but yes a high reving car sounds nice.

350bhp turbo in FWD is not going to drive as nice as my ITB'd Clio. I'll peel all my skin off and roll around in salt if it's anywhere near as usable lol.

horses for courses, I like high revving N/A power and in a car as light as a Clio ITB's are enough to see of most things and more importantly, have loads of fun in :)

Anyway, going back on topic, Foxon's car will also be up there with the quickest NA's, as will Lucky's... thinking about it GDI have done a s**t load more ITB'd engines that the owners of dont even come on here. I know of one ITB'd engine producing whopping power that would spank any and every car mentioned so far... but in the world of Clio Sport Martin's old time is the one to beat... only problem there is getting it down to equal weight to level the playing field... not happening, so only answer is more power lol
