wheel alignment setups for pro's?

K

kunit

set my car up on our 4 wheel laser alignment and all settings are within tolerence but i have to hold the steering wheel @ 1 o'clock to go in a straight line, thought it was a bit random going to get it up in the air asap and check subframe shocks bushes etc then get it back on the laser alignment, was just wondering what setups will give what feedback ie sharp turn in, back end kicking out or weather 0 deg toe on the front will be best all round? any experts about?

I can't answer the techy bits LoL but the 1 o'clock thing is simply a case of undoing the bolt holding the steering wheel on and turning the wheel round to the correct position before doing it up again isn't it?

Though I'm not quite sure how that works with airbags - my simple Mk1 has none of these problems ;) lol

ive got a ph2 172 and it took me 10 times and alot of patience to get it right if your steering wheel hasnt been taken off before is should line up in the end

ive got this problem after the last time i dropped the subframe and the steering disconnected.

you cant just unbolt the wheel, straighten it and bolt it back on afaik as it only fits one way, the teeth arnt identical all the way round.

you need to set up the car with the steeringwheel straight, as edde said.

  Turbos.
Well i got my tracking done at Kwik Fit and had the same problem when they did it whilst the wheel was at an angle...

The reason you get this probelm is that either

The wheel hasn't been locked centeral the both wheels adjusted or that the've just the the wheels to be parrel without using the stearing wheel set as center.
