Wheel Stud sheard off.!!

  Twin Scroll Impreza STI
Was getting some squealing from the brakes which was pissing me off big time so this afternoon i decided to give them an overhaul.

some bright fekin spark used thread lock on the wheel studs!! :nono: One is now sheard off.

I am on the understanding renault's are prone to this anyway but threadlock... come on!!

Where is the best place to buy a replacment.?

If you have a set of lockers on your car look in the box, usually there will be 4 spare bolts;)

I do have locknuts on the car but no sign of spare studs.. :( was a good idea one i didn't think off.

after replying to your post saying i didn't have any i went out to the car and had a rake about... in the tool bag right at the bottom were 2 new studs. :)

Had a hard time removing the broken stud but its now out and replaced.

Drilled a pilot hole through the broken one and splashed some weld into the hole. Then welded a nut onto that and out she came... took a good few attempts but its done now.

I removed every stud on the car and plastered both front hubs in copper slip along with every bolt that holds anything to do with the brakes on.

Cheers
