Since I fitted my Janspeed de-cat last week, I have had a metal on metal type noise coming from the CV's/Driveshafts everytime I have really accelerated hard.
Two weeks before, I noticed I had popped a CV off of the near side when fitting my Apex's but I re-greased and re-fitted this and there didn't seem to be any further issues.
The car is now running about 185 bhp and 160 lb/ft of torque. I had a crazy idea that the extra go liberated by the de-cat combined with the other mods had taken the components over a threshold of strength which had caused the rumbling/binding to materialise. I know this is probably stupid but I don't know what the CV's/driveshafts are rated at.
Where would you guys start?
I'm going to re-look at the CV's tomorrow. Could it be something like the diff' being strained by the greater angle of the driveshafts due to the Apex's?
Ideas welcome.
