whistling noise, 172 ph1

hello all,

had aux and cam belt done on my 172 ph1 the other day, since then i have had a whistling noise, sounds like a turbo spooling lol, it is constantly there, regardless of gear or rpm, anyone suffered similar or any ideas? its quite high pitched, can't be heard in car with windows up but is loud outside,

i wonder of its related to the belts being done or merely coincidental,

any help?

I had the same before my alternator died.

cool, i can cope with that if thats all it is, was it loud? someone suggested trying to spray wd40 in to the bearings of the alternator?

Mines done the same since a aux belt change. I'm pretty sure its the alternator bearing seems loudest between 1000 and 2000rpm. WD40 makes no difference if anything it'll disolve any grease left in the bearing and make it worse.
