Hi all, New member here and new to Clio ownership. I was previously using an old Mazda MX5 for trackdays but last year it was time to change vehicle. Having seen loads of these Clios flying round tracks i decided to give one a go.
A good friend and owner of a awesome Trophy helped me locate the 182 from a local lad. Unfortunately i don't have any pictures from first purchase but was basically a standard 182 FF with a crackle map and stainless exhaust.
After sorting out a major oil leak and carrying out a full service i got her straight out on track at Keevil Airfield (middle of last year).
It was immediately apparent that the old girl needed refreshing so got some H&R lowering springs on her, Powerflex poly bushing throughout, Braided brake hose, new discs and pads all round, and starting stripping the interior like all good track day cars. Done a few more trackdays including Castle Combe and thruxton and loved every minute of it. I booked a second track day at Thruxton again as its a fairly local track to me and so much fun but got some sticky tyres as the standard road going tyres previously got destroyed on track.
Seeing as the little Clio and i had bonded so well i done a few upgrades over the winter just gone which included a cage, rear strut brace, whiteline rear anti roll bar, a/c delete kit, 10mm axle spacers and a little more weight loss.
Picture taken last week, cleaned up and reading for ClioSport Saturday in August 2015 :-
Got some bucket seats being delivered tomorrow but something a little different. Will update soon............................
