why new wings to make 182 replica

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
hi guys im planning on making a mk2 ph2 172/182 replica with something like a 1.4 dynamique. now ive seen in a couple of threads you have to replace the front wings, is this just for the side skirts to fit or is it because the 182 front bumper is wider. As if its a straight fit then i could get away with using aftermarket sideskirts

also do any of you guys know places which sell the 182 style body parts or aftermarket kits which look similar.

cheers
James

Right on both counts mate I think. The wings on the 182's are wider than the non RS models and are needed to line up with the skirts and bumper. I believe it can be done without them but not easily.

ah ok mate, thats a pitty. looks like more expenditure lol what about the rear bumper thats a straight swap isnt it.

also do i have to source difference wheel arch liners for the front wings

cheers buddy, the pic helps alot as in other pics i have seen there didnt seem to be much difference other than the bottom of the arch where it joins the side skirt. where as that pic shows how much wider it is

so are these all the parts i would need

182 front bumper
172 rear bumper (as i dont want the exhaust going through the spare wheel well)
182/172 sideskirts
182/172 archliners
182 grill
182 front splitter
wheel spacers
