Willy vs RX-7 round two

just raced this car again on a nice dual carriageway off some lights, this time he had a passenger and i never, he tried setting off first but i was quick and smoked him in first and then he didnt catch me upto quite a high speed, muhahahahaha



saw a mk2 172 tonight with mk1 wheels and it looked wicked, transforms the mk2.

I am just guessing but I think Slugger meant that the 172s reputation can be talked up a lot on the boards but some people think of it as inferior to the Williams ? (Not saying that any is better than the other by the way) .....meaning that some people tend to believe threads like this when they are NOT 172 related and because the Williams is thought of as a classic ? Of course I am just speculating but that is how I took the comment.

May be best for Slugger to explain......

to be honest mate most people thought the 172 was far superior to the williams but people on here have flown the flag high for the willy on the 1/4 mile and road racing and silenced the non believers

They are both 2.0 16v so there was never going to be anything in it. I for one love the Williams but went for a 172, just prefer them, personal preference. Just for the record I am not saying I dont believe because I have been told how quick you car and respect for that ! Will see how fast it is at York with my own eyes, looking forward to that.

I was just trying to explain what I thought was meant by what Slugger said, only Slugger knows the score.

most of the races ive had have been on the strip or on the way there lol. v6 4motion golfs, vr6s ,gti s, 172s, maestro/montego turbos, clio valvers, astra gsi s etc..........all beaten, and well beaten.except the 4 motion which put up a bit of a fight,(tho i was 4 up lol)

well have to settle all this sh*t once and for all on the strip lol

i think ive kinda stirred up a hornets nest on the saxo club forum too hehe they are gunna be turning up in force i think in oct hehe

and sposed to be quite a few golf turbo gtis n vr6s gunna be there up for a beating too

i was gonna mention you in particular jon as my same situ willy compadre, both willys minus the cat. on my first day at strip got a 15.0 with no rev counter, guessing gearchange, and jons got a 14.8. people just assume these cars would blow you away cos of magazine reports etc, on the road its f**k all. ive raced, beaten,and only just been beaten by these cars that most would think would blow my car away so i dont give a fukin sh*t what any monkeys think. btw, heres a list of smilar performance 1/4mile cars:-

hehe good work mate! Willys rule!

To all the non-believers out there, Craggys Willy is very quick, from a passenger ride in it, and from racing it, I estimate a sub 7 second 0-60, and the quarter miling results (consistent low 15s) speak for themselves.

Part of what Daipac said is what I meant. What I was saying is just that whenever a 172 driver posts on here theat they raced this or that, beat this or that, kept up with etc everyone just says yeah right, as if etc. Always do with me anyway, every single reply I get is along those lines.

Wasnt saying I do believe dont believe or trying to start a willy vs 172 thing.
