your first ever car how sh*t was it !

My first car was a Citroen Visa Gti
Before the 106 / Vts there was the 205Gti / Visa Gti
Despite it not looking as good as the 205 Gti it was almost as good.
My first car,very underated and i loved it !
bigtymer - how did you write a nova off on a petrol station forecourt - was it a puncture??
Sounds much better than my 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th cars though!

hey all,
Been gazing over the forum for ages but only just registered so i can post about my first car as i loved it.
£500 1977 MKII Escort 1.6 Ghia, Beige with black vinyl roof, Rs alloys and 4 Spot lamps.
All my mates who werent into their motors use to take the piss cos it had rust all over it and was held together with tank tape.
Soon stopped laughing when u approach them full opposite lock off a roundabout with the rear wheels spinning up
Totally unreliable car and useless as everyday motor but boy was she fun.

My first car was a C reg Metro City 1.0
Pretty nippy little thing. My friends in their 1.4 Escorts and 1.6 Cavalier couldnt touch me on the lanes.
Got 70mph in 3rd too.
Rust killed it.
Mine was a G reg 1.1lx fiesta, which cost me £100, about four years ago. It was rusting to pieces, and had 160,000 miles on the clock! Nevertheless it somehow lasted me a year with no problems, where i put another 10k on it. After this, it was practically falling apart so i sold it to some guy for £50, with 170k miles on it!
my first car was a M reg Escort Saloon 1.4, paid £2000 for it. i felt good driving a 1.4 in them days as most of my mates were driving in their 1.0 novas. then sadly a women drove into the back of me on the M6 and wrote it off. was a very sad day at the time. cost me £800 to insure it through my mam.
My first car is the one i drive now. 03 plate clio 1.2 16v I passed my test when i was 17 but decided to wait till i could get a brand new car for my first car. SO didnt get a car till i was 19 by which time i had my lisence for 2 years and had a full 12 points to use up (luckily i havent used any yet and am now 21)

paid £1650 for it with 76,000 then got £1350 settlement 2 years and 25,000 miles later

1st - J Reg 1.1 R5 - good car until it constantly refused to start,
2nd - N Reg 1.1 Punto - good car
3rd - L Reg 1.4 R5 (lowered, alloys, splitter) - loved this until it got written off,
4th - K Reg 1.4 Clio RT (lowered, alloys) - pile of sh*te,
5th - P Reg 1.6 Megane RT (lowered, 17s, zorst, filter) - good car and pretty quick,
6th - K Reg 1.8 16v Clio (lots done now) - still have it, love it and cant see me selling!

1983 Austin Rover 1.3 HLE with recon engine for 650 notes. Bought it when it was 10 years old back in 93.
Insurance was 400 squid for 3rd party F&T.
Poured a wad of notes into it on servicing and MOTs etc. Although I cringe to say it now, I did put a sports leather steering wheel + gear knob combo in there to give it that extra umpph!
It was my rolls royce until it was nicked!

1st - had a 1.2 m reg clio bee bop with zorst lowered alloys was in black real nice wrote it off thouhg
2nd - 1.4rt clio zorst alloys k reg not realy good missfires liek anything
3rd - get it 2moro n reg sliver 1.8 16v clio alloys zorst induction kit, will add more ..
and only been driving 9 months heh
D-reg beige Ford Fiesta 1.0 Popular. Superb, no stereo, no hole for a stereo, no head rests, no demister, no nothing, but by God that thing could jump hump back bridges like nothing else on earth!
I didnt buy it myself, it was my dads, but he bought it for me so I wouldnt wreck his own motor. My first car I bought with my own money was an M-reg Clio RT (metallic green M640 BLT in case anyone here has got it?) but thats boring cos it was a proper car. Funnily enough ever since then Ive bought older and older cars! In chronological order:
Clio RT (M reg)
Clio 16v (L-reg)
Montego (G reg)
Fiat Tipo (G reg)
Nissan 200SX (F reg)
VW Scirocco (B reg)
So Im currently driving around a car thats older than the first one I ever had. And obviously still got my valver.

Bought it off Ebay for £100 and spent >£1000 to get it through MOT on a list as long as my arm of problems. But then the driveshaft broke and I had to say enogh was enough!

My second car was a red Citroen AX 1.1 Forte made to look like a GTi, with alloys, bodykit and the badge on the back.
My third (and current) car is my Clio RSi!

My first car :
Mini city...old X reg.....998cc...(called Winni)...put fat arches on it, resprayed orange, black bucket seats and black revolite wheels...(only just sold them in the last couple of months).....spent most weekends under the bonnet changing something.....mostly the battery because my Clifford bleed it dry when it wasnt on the road........cried my eyes out when it went to the breakers......the engine was willing but the body wasnt........in the 4 years i had it i changed nearly all the body panels on it including the sub-frames.........also went everywhere with a box of wet and damp start in the boot !......still have the speedo in my loft........
funny thing is id give up any car to have her back....

My first car is my current Clio, unless you count the metro I was lent or my mums other clio which i used to borrow. How sh*t is it?...not sh*t at all couldnt be happier.

Mine was a 3 year old BMW 328i Sport coupe, metalic black, full leather. So nice was so sad when it drove off but then i had a nice 18 month old golf V6 4motion for a 18 months, then came the clio. Now for sale so that I can buy a subaru impreza RB5. I know subarus arent well liked here but the way i see it, every car enthusiast must own one at some point. Now is my time.

I LOVED my first car!!
Nova 1.4 SR in bright blue. It was completely standard and absolutely mint when I bought it (£4000). H469 AHY - I wonder where it is now.
2nd - Brand new Tigra 1.4 in Leaf Green for a rip-off £12840. Looked nice but a wheelbarrows faster. Biggest waste of money ever.
3rd - Peugeot 306 1.6 with a big leak in the boot. Hated it.
4th - Ford Ka 1.3 and the most basic model: no e/w or c/l or anything!
5th - (current car) Clio 172 in pearl black
6th - 182 in inferno - IT WILL BE MINE!!!

#1 - VW Polo - 1977 - GAA 104S. Was my parents, then my sisters, then mine, then I gave it to the wife when her first car (Talbot Sunbeam - no Lotus engine tho) blew up. Through its lifetime the car was written of twice ... never badly damaged, just because it wasnt worth repairing. Did about 120k in it. Value guides were so worn that had massive back pressure from sump up the breather into the air filter, so ran 50k without an air filter and without going about 55mph else oil squirted out of the top. In the end after Id paid to keep it on the road (welding, supension, brakes) it died. Sold it to some bloke as a project of his kid for £50. My wife extracted half of the cash from my hand ... cheeky cow
