Power Tool Perverts

These are pretty much the only snap on thing I own 😅

Really good for removing awkward clips on cars though.

Nice, I want these:

They are striking pry bars, my mate who works on trucks has a set and the ends are nicely hardened and have survived while most tools in his care die.

But just seen these while looking for the pic above, about 1/3rd the price too:

That's something I haven't got actually, striking pry bars.

I have the snap on set and the extra 3ft long one too. They are a must have in the trade or serious diy.

I did prefer the older handle style though but ended up warrantying the lot for the newer handle like those. Prob a bit safer for your hands

I must be in the minority but i hardly ever use a pry bar unless im destroying something. However when i was a joiner i used to just bray the round end of the ruffneck crow bar if you needed a bit of poke, at less than 1/4 of the price of any of them.

I usually use the 20" breaker to lever track control arms down, a bit oldskool i guess. Not sure what the expensive sets of pry bars are like, ive found that when ive used a cheaper one in the past they flex loads.

Lower control arm lever is class for this if your working off a 4 poster, i used one when helping out in a garage a while ago. Similar to this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-2m-Wis...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

has any one tried these batteries on the M12 range. I've already got a Chinese 6.0ah battery and it on par with the Milwaukee ones I have. But never seen a 9.0ah one

So I need to start buying some gear for DIY projects at home, and I’m a bit torn. I know most on here have been touched by Milwaukee but for the kit I want to buy initially, like for like (ish) Makita gear is £150 cheaper.

Ive had quite a lot of Makita in the past and always liked it so it seems like a no brainer really, and the £150 can go towards more tools that I need as all of mine were stolen a while ago…

Anyone got a sensible comparison opinion?!

All for just home use, I’m not planning on going back on the tools!

If you’ve found Makita kit that fits your budget, go for it. Solid brand and great tools.

Aren't you on the milwaukee battery family now so would make sense to stick with it no?

Just wondered if there were any horror stories I guess.

Only got the 12v impact wrench at the minute but that’s standalone as I need 18v for the tools I’m after so I’ve not committed yet!

No one wants Ryobi, I’m not buying them for my nephews to play with….

I think I ‘want’ Milwaukee but not sure if there’s any real substance to it!

Just get them. YOLO. 🤣

If you're gonna get Makita then make sure you get LXT stuff and not the nonce tackle

What is it you're after? My grandad and @J-J both have s**t loads of Makita stuff and I've not seen them have any issues

Swapped the combi and impact from the Bluetooth gimmick as that’s a waste of time, so £640 to get things started I don’t think is bad value really...

How's the milwankoffmen m12 multi tool?

Im after one and can go ryobi or m12 Milwaukee. The red one looks a lot less cumbersome but obviously has a bit less power and I've only got 1 battery compared to 4 ryobi ones.

eta I know you're gonna say go red but im only going red if the tool is loads better!

I really like the M12 stuff, the M12 impact and drill is very decent, not sure how it compares to the M18 drill though.

I have quite a bit of M12 stuff and would be happy with the M12 drill, however there are several M18 only bits that I really want so will probably buy the M18 drill when my 15 year old Makita dies (I don't think its going to die).

Thanks for the input, decided to bin off the SDS and 3rd battery for now as the first jobs I’ve got planned don’t need a huge amount of masonry drilling so I’ll add them on once things get a bit more exciting.
