Renault (Alpine) 5 EV black roof issues

anyone on here with a 5 EV that's got the black roof option.

My lad has one (well his is an alpine) and he's noticed specks appearing on the roof where you can see the main bodywork paint underneath. In some areas you can see what looks like the primer. He just heard back from the dealer and they are blaming him saying it's due to bird droppings. They haven't looked at the car just some photo's that they asked him to send.

After a quick google it appears that it's happened to a few cars that have the black roof.

@Short Norman can you upload some pics of it?

Argh. Fancy using a light blue undercoat!

The first picture, larger damage, looks like bird poo for sure. In my humble opinion as a previous part time detailer, obviously.

The second, smaller bit, looks a bit like physical damage. If the first bit is from bird poo, the second bit will almost certainly be bird claws.

All in all, I unfortunately agree with them on this - it looks like bird mess. That said, how shoddy is the paint if it does that so quickly! I get bird poo is very acidic and can etch paint quite quickly, especially in the hot weather we have had, but come on!

Three options as far as I see it:

Fight Renault a bit harder, especially if this is a common issue.
Get the roof repainted.
Wrap roof.

Sorry mate :(

I get that, but he does keep the car clean.

If it is from bird shite, it's reacted quicker than what's reasonable imo.

Yeah, he will continue the bun fight with the dealer and see if it happens again next summer (if we have another hot one).
