Looks pretty good... not sure why you've left the inner door skins and other pointless metal in though!

I thought Time Attack was for 3000bhp Subarus?

had a couple of other bits turn up too....

Time Attack states you must run at least a hand held extinguisher, but i felt more comfortable with a plumbed in system, so if there was an engine bay fire i could put it out rather than stand back and watch the thing go up in smoke!

Tubing and connectors allows system to do engine bay in 2 places plus passenger and driver foot wells.

182 Manifold came a little while back, so gave it a clean ready for wrapping.

i always thought that formed dent was to miss the antiroll bar that runs under the car.

the original manifold on my 182 had it too.

it may look slightly more pronounced on that one due to me giving it a spit and polish.

same differnce lol

Matt if your on the rallye register ask mankee about ceramic coating his old manifold cost him about £60 he said.

Those extinguishers arn't very good i'm afraid; they arnt really designed to stop the car going up, just to damp it down enough for you to get out.

AFFF extinguishers are just like soapy dish water really :)

There isnt any car plumbed system that is designed to totally put a fire out. The lifeline systems are very very good at what they do.

We had a tank explode in a superlight this season and the extinguisher system dampened the fire enough to save the car and total write off.

The charged systems are only needed on cars with values of like £250k like the mondeo i ran in 2007. However that extinguisher cost a fortune to run and service.

well if it gives the car a few more minutes life till the track side fire service arrives, then it gets my vote.

obviosuly it wont put out a blazing inferno! But its 1000 times better than some hand held item i gotta scrabbled for, then get out, then try and aim into the engine bay!!!!

If heard people say they have set their AFFF extinguishers off by accident, and all it did was dribble out :)

The most important thing for the AFFF ones is the correct placement, aiming and installation of the nozzels, else they loose most if not all of their effectiveness.

It's typical, Halon extinsguishers were banned because they are bad for the ozone; but i'm guessing their not as bad as the whole car going up, which is definitely happening more now :)

I am probably going to try one of the Lifeline Zero 360 ones in my car, it's a gas discharge one rather than AFFF so hopefully it will stand more of a chance.

back to the last page, 95% of 182 exhaust manifolds are "dented" like that to miss the antiroll bar under hard throttle and launch etc! They clear the roll bar that way!

oh and matt, can i take them carbon fog surround off ya hands??

Got a PM back but he just gave me the thread i posted but also who did it so maybe a google search will bring a website or something ?

anyway here's the pm he sent

Hello mate. The details are in this thread here:

http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2...ad.php?t=32825

Company is called Buckenham Blast Cleaning in Suffolk/Norfolk. It's not a proper ceramic coating but it's just a heat-proof paint. Looks pretty but not as good as ceramic coating, which would cost nearer £100 I'd imagine.
