Deposit down on a mint 172 cup

Car  Black Gold with cup packs
After a bit of dissapointment after a recent viewing of a 182cup (service history didn't add up)
I am now going to view a Yozza 172cup tomorrow, looing forward to this, and am very happy the deal on the 182cup fell through. This looks to me like a mint and very desirable model, Had extensive talks with the owner (who is a mature owner) and it all sounds very promising, the car has covered 34k and in serviced and inspected on a very regular basis! Happy days!
Heres a link to the car and the details of the car, mods ect!
It's supposedly over 200hp now as well

I will be getting the wheels refurbed in black straight away, and get the windscreen sorted,
one slight issue though, i don't know if it really a problem, the car runs superb but it sounds a bit lumpy at idle? Is this an issue, I knocked him down a fair bit as the car was due a service in 3 thousand miles, the cam belt done in January, and the tax is up in July, all normal things though! I am phoning Andrew from Yozza for a chat about the car tomorrow as it is regually used as a yozza feature car! any info at the lumpy at idle guys?

Why the different number plate in different pictures?

Different side repeaters too, can see what looks like clear, smoked and orange :S

It's running higher-lift cams. There's your idle lumpyness solved.

I've seen the car when i was at YS i think... Andrew's a top fella, you'll have no problems if the deal's through him.

Lol, no worries. As a note this car got a bad review for handling in track and race cars mag. Could have been down to the tyres or set-up though as the h&r's should be good.

nice mate.

id bin the gammon font plates.

did some scottish guy buy your white cup, heard someone from these shores was going to look at it

Plates are already off it, The scottish guy only offered me £11500, sold the car for £12400.

Yes, I think its just been tidied up a bit. Went around the usual and more unusal things with a fine toothcomb.
Where did this car get a bad review for handling?
Was this recently? and did it have the H&R's on it at the time?
I have seen a recent receipt stateing that the suspension has been professionally set up by Yozza for a price of £250!

Was track and race cars clio shoot out. Not sure when this was but have the mag somewhere. Said lacked steering feel or similar from memory. Yeah it was wearing the h&r's, had uniroyal rainsport tyres on at the time too.

H&r's are superb though so would be easy to set it up again if thats the case, thats if it hasnt already been done!

if its had cams fitted surely they would have changed the cam belt and tensioners then, i would find out befor wasting alot of money changing it if it didnt need doing

He said the cam belt was changed then yes!
BUT other than the word of Andrew at Yozza sport that the work was carried out, there is nothing on receipt stating that the cam belt and tensioners were changed!

Cheers Chris, All work has been carried out by yozza, and it is serviced and inspected by yozza on a regular basis!

well if its andrews word you have to go on i would hes a top bloke wouldnt mess you around, but for peace of mind its up to you mate

Is it not in the service book at all? Should be a bit for belt changes. Should also be able to get yoz to stamp this to say its been done retrospectively.

Cheers Peparami, As I said, I will be giving Yoz a ring tomorrow for a chat about the car, hopefully he can fill me in about the car and answer any questions I have!

The car is currently running on Michelin Pilot Exalto 2, and I will have a set of Toyo proxies thrown in with the deal!

Lol why did your writing get smaller? No worries mate. If you get the cup we should sort a wales run or something mate, get some decent driving done :D

Who's old car is that! Seen those pics before...Members on here?! :S Thought it was Ant's for a sec...

Looks good.

Just come off the phone from Andrew at Yozza, he basically told me you would not get a better 172cup as a road car! Happy days! The cam belt was changed when the cams were done, but he also reccomends that I still get it done as scheduled!

deffo is the same one then! Pretty sure Ant had it in the middle of those, I nearly swapped my Golf GTi Anniversary for it. I'm 99% certain Angelworks was involved in this one as well?
