Hiyer guys,

My clio currently looks like this

SDC10349.jpg

Due to an unfortunate incident with a curb during the frosty weather one of my alloys is badly in need of a refurb. Cant decide wether to have my original alloy refurbed in satin black again or wether its time for a bit of a change. Cant decide between a refurb and saving for some anthracite Turinis and then respraying all the badges in anthracite as well.

Any opinions ??

id get other alloys as the 182 ones are heavy and let no air to the brakes. oz ultraleggras look good and different to the usual turini crew.

I like the look of 182 alloys personally I would stick with the black it looks good.

Also no need for turini's etc unless you plan on doing track days.

Without a doubt. Unbelievably light and look the b****cks

15" weighs 4.7kgs
That's very close to half the weight of the standard 1*2 wheels, when you account for unsprung weight making roughly 4x as much different as 'in car' weight, thats about an 80kg saving..... worth every penny IMO!

Mine are being delivered on Friday ;)

  Clio 172
Im trying to save up for mine. 16" which I will be having are only 6.4 kg. Should see about 3kg a corner weightloss on unsprung mass. Superleggera's are the same though. Wish I had the money to buy the ones for sale on here

tbh, I prefer the look of the superturismo GT's. But they're no lighter than the turini's really, so it was a no brainer.

Speedline Turini's weight 8.9kg's in 16x7, guessing that's the same as the renault turini's............

That's pretty bloody heavy!

Cheers Dave, thats good to know

If i can get hold of some i think 15"s would be best but would need lowering afterwards.

Certainly room for thought.

I do like these, also really like the F1's but not sure if they are the same fitment for 182's ??

F1's are heavy.
And as Dave says, all the same fitment :)

Definitely 15's.... Cheap tyres, better acceleration, better handling! Win!

Any idea with 15's what would be the best method of lowering a 182 cup onto them Jack ??

Guess the lighter the better, especially if the 15's help too. :D

Depends what you mean by best?? Cheapest / best looking / easiest to fit / best handling?

Lighter wheels is better in every respect, the ultraleggera's are the lightest off-the-shelf non magnesium wheel.

Kinda going more towards best looking/handling without breaking the bank lol :D

Not sure wether lowering springs or coilovers are better/ Deffinatley think 15's is the way to go, so best start shopping around.

Depends how much of a drop you want....

Eibach sportlines are the best springs IMO, about £150.

Coilovers will always give you a better stance, just because they're adjustable. V-maxx or k-tec are perfectly fine if it's just for road use. They're ~ £400 I think. You can get cheaper coilovers, but I wouldn't on a 182.

A little more money, buy bilsteins, that's what I'm going for I think. ~£700

The only problem you may have is that not many manufacturers make coilovers for the 182 cup as the front strut bolt spacing is different, but you can get them modified to fit pretty cheaply.

Thanks for all the info Jack,

Think i will look into the Sportlines with 15" alloys. Just got to pick a set now :)

I looked at the V-maxx coilovers but the KTEC website says they dont fit the 182 cup :( but if i can start saving then i will go for a good set of coilovers instead.

Hiyer guys,

Any opinions on which alloys would be best ??

Speedline Turini's
Speedline 2118's
OZ Ultraleggera's
Wolfrace Pro lites

Or any other suggestions, so far the ultraleggera's have been most reccomended :)

Been looking into the alloys and im stuck for choice,

Either buying some used OZ f1's or Clio williams alloys and refurbing them black or maybe looking to get some ultraleggera's brand new.

Anyone have any preferances to help me narrow it down ??

Jay
