PARTS HELP - 2003 172 CUP - Hub Flange - OSF

Chaps,

I have just had my wheels refurbed, however on refitting the OSF wheel they cross threaded the nut and damaged the hub.

What is the best solution to this? I have been advised to buy a new hub (but apparently they are not stocked by GSF Part -they are dealer only at £191)

Is getting the hub tapped a safe alternative?

Any recommendations where I can source a new 172 Cup Hub for less than £191?!

172 cup hub is same as all other 172s and 182 without cup/cup packs.

The forsale section or renparts maybe if you're in a rush.

Or helicoil it.

Is helicoil a safe solution? I have been told (possible inaccurately!) that this would be dangerous / less than ideal repair.

I can get a new hub for £102 + fitting - is this a decent price?

Whats the consensus? (I might get some some new Brembo HC's and DS2500's fitted whilst the wheels are off).

you only need the drive flange piece (and a new wheel bearing) the hub itself doesn't need replacing

helicoil would work but its a bit of a bodge, not worth risking it
