This game and Naughty Dog being tied with Sony / Playstation is one of THE key selling points of the PS4 imo.
Still holding fire as to which console to get first either way.

Ubisoft confirm patch for Assassins Creed to now run at 1080p.

I paid for mine in June when I preordered it then paid the remaining £100 few weeks back when I got the Mega bundle upgrade offer... only thing I need now is PSN membership which can be had around the £35 mark
I never thought about shopto going into administration as they seem a strong little company but then again so was game :S think I should be ok with 2 weeks left

For those of you who have pre-ordered the PS4 - check this out, US owner/s on a UK forum providing very honest feedback on their experience so far with the PS4 :

Also, i'd reccomend downloading the PSN+ update directly off the PS site, rather than trying to download it off of PSN direct after launch as it'll be overwhelmed and probably time out.

It's only a review from one person with another giving some views, hardly a decent representation, and he's using rose tinted glasses IMO, he blames some slowness on his internet connection for example.

And who's to say the slight slowness wasn't caused by his internet? Not all of us are blessed with decent broardband, 1mb if i'm lucky for me here, out in the sticks.

thats what i said, read it back, theres a review from one person, and the other one gives his views, he doesn't write a full report like the op, theres only 2 owners, hardly a lot with a million + consoles out there........

oh indeed, I'm just playing devils advocate, but a sony fan would automatically put it down to something other than the consoles fault etc........

My apologies, you did indeed. All I was offering was a place for some clarification over certain questions regarding PSN / Controller / initial feedback on games etc - that's all.
I'm fully expecting the actual failure rate to be well above the 0.4% quoted, probably about 1% when all regions have gotten their respective launches. Not seen any figures for MS's expected failure rate?

lol @ not seeing MS's expected failure rate, that would be 0% of course, the actual figure will be a lot higher, but i doubt it will be that of the ps4, when the xbox was launched it had issues, whereas the ps3 launch went pretty much to plan from memory, just because one company has issues, doesn't actually mean the competitor is also going to have them.
But not long to wait now, I'm sure this forum will be full of reports as of 00:01 next friday

The problems have been overblown imo, also why people keep quoting the Amazon.com reviews as a reference point I have no idea, when ANYONE can review a product, whether they've bought it or not.
I have to say i'm looking forward to trying out the DS4 pad, the DS3 was ok at best and the 360 controller was too chunky for me - this looks like a happy medium.
I need to pre-order Infamous : Second Son too - looks mint! :

If you look at the Amazon reviews another thing you'll see if the multiple reviews by the same folk. There's being bias towards a console then theres the ripping the utter pi$$.
On the subject of Infamous. Would one have to have played the 1st to "get it"?

Exactly, and I think that abuse has been highlighted with some of the PS4 reviews.
No, apparently while it has a backstory linked to the earlier titles, it's a standalone title for those who haven't played the series before (like me).
The Order 1886 looks decent too, PS4 exclusive and slated for a 2014 release - this is in engine footage :

^ I know one of the lead graphics coders on Order 1886 - a very talented guy and he has done a few talks recently about the technology going into the game. Some very clever lighting and surface realisation techniques being used on this and the results are very impressive. He recently talked at SIGGRAPH 2013 and went into further detail about some of the techniques. It could be quite a 'looker'.
