Good call Gaz. It was the aux belt. Although as I left her at the garage there were 4 mechanics looking under the bonnet scratching their heads!
£180 ish from renault. Better than a cam belt I guess. And better than it coming off whilst driving.
I've just gone with them. £484
23 with 4yrs ncb. No points and advanced licence, no mods 172.
I just called them and told them my lowest quote (virgin.com) obviously dropped it a little and they beat it by a tenner with only £400 xs. Chuffed.
I'd suggest you accept it as they go through...
I've just had an odd noise start, coming from the left side of the engine bay (near the aux belt?). It's not a normal belt slipping noise, more a deeper rubbing kind of sound. Increases with revs and has gone from noise every second at idle to constant noise at idle. Water temp doesn't appear to...
Saw a Williams, with a blue Cup following, going under the viaduct (shpelling?) in Newquay this afternoon. Id just turned out of waterworld and may not have been driving too sensibly (woman trouble! - apologies if I offended, or brought the good name of clio sport into disrepute.)
Also saw a...
Just to add a different slant:
Does the driver make it a Clio Sport? Ergo any clio driven by an enthusiast -driving or styling - is a clio sport possibly.
But does that mean a 172 isnt a Clio sport if my Gran is driving? Perhaps riding the clutch in 2nd at 5k revs and 15mph all the way to...
Yes! And Ive been flashed a few times (no t!ts yet - shame!)
I will quite happily follow a Nova for a couple of miles purely because he slows down to 29 mph!!
Im not certain but I dont think that full beam is xenon? Therefore country road driving doesnt make a lot of difference. I may be wrong.
Couldnt agree more. I changed from Autoglym about a month ago and the difference is amazing. Ive waxed the car twice now, the beading is better and the finish is superb.
Im not entirely sure Im correct but; as he is entering the road he should check that it is safe to do so. That said, he may claim that he was looking right and could safely assume that side of the road to be clear.
You can claim that the overtake was legal, necessary, and safe (proving the...
Only rattle ive got is the 4k rattle, which is getting worse also.
I suggest you spray a few cans of expanding foam into the dash and engine bay! Maybe...

GPS receiver shouldnt be greatly affected by the tint of the windows, although the front is somewhat reflective also. Ive got my receiver (for origin B2) on the rear parcel shelf, with the cable neatly and easily routed down the drivers side of the car.
Having line of sight (with the sky) will...
I dont know how you all manage to get such good mpgs. The best Ive had was 38 (majority motorway) and that was driving like my dad!
Managed to get it down to 17 mpg on the computer once! Involved some silly driving and lots of noise.
I average 28 using Optimax.
Couple of things.
Omar - My Exaltos squeal quite a bit, depending on surface.
Everyone - What kind of prices do you pay for tyres? Ive just put continentals on the back at £56 each inc balance and fitting. Which I thought was pretty good.
