tho the newer clios will be like it too in 8 or 9 years time prob, but unless the newer clios have some where to keep a umbrella ! None of the RS clios have sunroofs matey ;) Old school hot hatchs are the best I reckon. Know which I'd prefer to have a smash in though.......

Thing is Roy I bet the 197 you tested was still tight as a nuns chuff. What was its mileage? Coming from a well run in 182 is perhaps a little unfair.

Yup. Would partly depend on whether they had 'good' engines or not. Many do not put out the claimed 170/180 bhp. My petrol cap says 98 too. One marked 95 sounds a bit suspect to me. Is it an import?

They won't put too big a lump in the RS Twingo cos it would probably be better than the 197 then (being based on the previous generation Clio and all ;) )

Aren't all ph2 172 boxes shorter than ph1's? Not just the cup. IIRC its because ph2's are heavier than ph1's and Renault wanted to maintain the same 0-60
