That looks like mine before I hit it with a knotted wheel, be prepared for the rust to have gone a lot further than you think/hope. Mine had holed the top of the arch in a small area.
I've thought this too and nearly didn't do it, it then dawned on me that I have a motorbike so Volantec steering wheel it was! I can't decide whether to add a Renaultsport sticker?
Have you tried a bit of 1500 grit super glued to a thin strip of wood to clean up all the pins in the 'white plug of doom'? Pack it full of silicone grease on reassembly. Solved mine after months of hassle.
I've fitted a volantech steering wheel and their airbag resistors which were very loose so I wrapped them in insulation tape to keep them in. I'm getting sporadic airbag and SERV light popping up, is this likely just because of the poor fitting resistors?
Good progress, I've always wondered why the front seat rail support for the passenger side seat is painted black on 172/182s. Anything to do with being seen if the autochanger or seat storage isn't fitted.
I snapped my release cable, you can just about get to the release mechanism through the grille area if you remove the bumper which is possible without the bonnet up. May not seem it but with a bit of patience it will work.
