From what I can tell from your earlier post you have an OLD style ECU. Putting the wrong software ON (rst) will leave your ECU dead. Information can be found under 5.0 Which calibration file to use

Rear sensor is still functional only the heater element not any more. As it is only there to measure the catalytic efficiency (P0420) , not a big deal.

RST is Windows only, however it seems to run fine in a Virtual PC environment on a Mac. This is only what I heard though. Cannot test it for myself as I dont own a Mac.

Ask somebody with an RSTuner to help you out and it will tell you the fault code. No guessing needed.

Disconnect the VVT solenoid connector and take it for a spin. connect it again take it for another spin. If you feel no difference chances are there is a problem with it. Hook it up to a RSTuner or other diagnose equipment and you will know for sure.
