There is no 1.4 engine its a 1.5dci (well a 1461 cc engine to be totaly correct) Anyway to remove the battery just need a spanner I forget the size maybe 10mm dead easy just remember to check you havee your radio code before doing it.

Once you remove that big plastic ring you can yep just lift the pump out. As for hom to do it there is a toll however if you bend somehting to a U shape you can do it. Otherwise You cann apparently get creative and tap it off wwith a punch round the outside of it.
