If you have the K4M its basically a mini 172 engine, the top part is plastic, and the lower is metal. The metal part below can be modified no problem, and because the plastic is injection moulded, there is no problem with its dimentions as it uses rubber O ring seals instead of gaskets.

Dont be too concerned with the texture of the ports in areas which you cannot reach, it is a very very minor detail.
The act of modificatons to the manifold is not one for a machine, unless you have a 5 axis cnc. Machining will leave a straight that is 90 deg to the manifold faces, which is...
just drop it off at a local engine reconditioners and ask them to clean it. Usually they get it pretty much near spotless, but some places area useless at cleaning, so have a look at some of their stuff lying around.
You'll never get it truely spotless unless you take some form of scrubbing...
Dont bother with kents, fot £90 they will be regrinds unless they are feeling extroadinarily generous. Reginds are horrible for our cars, tap to buggery and generate some rather nasty harmonics and snap acceleration rates (of the valve, not car), and it certainly wont be 16bhp gain.
LIke i...
This, IMO is the single best gaining mod you can make to a stock type car.
Ideally you want a remap as this can eseentially add 30-40% extra ontop of the initial gain, aswell as being safer.
If you plan on not having any remap, then modification of the lower half of the manifold is my...
I have all but 182 ones in stock at the moment.
I supply ready modified one, and you send back yours, you are correct.
Price is £160, can also supply new gaskets if required.
It is very possible to do a 'gasket' match.
However a manifold which gives the largest gains is developed as an entire entity, i cannot speak for others, but when i modify a manifold, a gasket match only compramises about 45% of the work done on the the manifold. If you were purely to gasket...
Custom components made in the states arrive tomorrow!!!
It has cost AWT about a grand just to have the prototype components made!
Thats not even the full exhaust!
But dont worry, prototype costs are always high compared to end result.
I dont have anything to do with the system, but maybe i can help clear up some stuff.
BTB make fantastic exhausts, i was going to use them ages ago, but found somewhere else that suits me better, but again, BTB is probably in the top 5 in the UK, and more importantly available for public...
If you want the best bar none, and i mean bar none, hang round for a little while.
The prototype is currently stuck in customs with a whopping big tax bill for me to pay because it looks so fancy :(
oh, and getting 200lbs.ft is going to be near impossible as a decent theoretical max is about 192 for a 2ltr, and anything with that sort of torque is something very very strong.
There are.
A set of My altered later opening hi-torq camshafts, matched with a modified inlet manifold and a remap will see torque and low rpm drivability bumped up considerably.
This is required as getting the engine to reach a point of decent combustion efficiency at lower rpms on the...
No worries, it'll look hard at the beginning, but just follow the route of the original cable and all will reveal itself.
ONly hard part might be locating the point where the cable enters through the bulkhead into the footwell as it more accesable from the OS wheel arch.
Remove the bungs...
About £17.
They are fiddly, but not hard.
Just tight working conditions as you have to go behind the bulkead lining, and work through the OS wheel arch.
they're actually called long dick valves....no joke!
OH........just to bring it up again, someone 'elses' port and polish (distinct lack of polish! lol)
And the AWT fix.
pistons fail under sustained high rpm, renault sport themselves say std pistons WILL fail if you live above 7200rpm.
Skim the block to give std deck height, 4 thou isnt going to make a nats difference.
