Personaly use the expensive Bosch ons they sell in Hayfords there very very good. Not cheap unless you can get a friend with with a trade card to get them.
Everyone has there own experiances though.
Mines never had any trouble excluding what needed to be found anyway.
Many delaers offer a very good deal on MOT's etc.
Maxda RX8 isn';t the same price as a 172 or 182 etc.
Dealers are on the whole very good, people on here feel like they...
You need to drop the subframe a bit on one side to swop the manifolds
You have to either get a Cat/decat etc made up to fit as the 172 or 182 won't directly fit most people seem to like the cut up 182 one made to fit.
Gains with mapping are smalla about 5hp mayabe depends on other mods and...
£250 plus whatevers broken depends where you go that doens't imclude a new clutch which is idealy IMO and essential plus removal and replacments costs at 7.2 hours.
COuld well be the PAS return line has failed it does happen IMO keep the bottle topped up all the time don't drive th car for...
Depends what upgrade most 182 remaps as such are on the stanrd ECU its not like the 172 where they often used the R sport replacment ECU's
They don't mess up if done correctly.
Worth it depends what mods you have realy gains are small top end a bit more mid range but on stock engine gains...
Assuming you have a Mk1 CLio then the gains arn't going to happen stock body isn't the limiter to power get other mods done and it will help.
If you have a Mk2 1 forget it as it isn't the limiter and will cause trouble trying to get it to work
if you have a Mk2 phase 2 it just won't work...
1) Need to track back all the wires is the dasboard red light going out when you turn the key?
2) They don't have the ABS ring on them they can be fitted to them though although dealers will have problem finding the part in the system but its there thats all they need to be used ona a full...
Yep you could fit it the revs would be chnaged a load idealy use the JC5 from the DCI 80 as its the stronger box same NM streght as the 172 box but realy the ratios would be huge for example using 7.2 redline gearbox would go to
1st 36mph
2nd 72mph
3rd 108mph
4th 144mph
5th 187mph...
Its been done before I had though about doing its a good fun project. Have a look into the vans though you cna get a bit of power out of them they sell turbo versions abroad and 4x4 versions.
Would be best off though for mega power caging it and making some RWD powerplant for it.
The possible problem is the car was at near max all up wieght and the clutches arn't great anyway for a car with the setup it has.
COuld just need a new clutch cable or if not a new clutch. Could be a gearbox seal having gone though and wrecking the clutch.
Life span depend how you drive...

There is no best its just whats best for your car and often pocket idealy a custom made is the best for the mods you have but people ofter refere to group N ECU's as the ECU's you could buy and plugged straight into cups and 172's which had maps on them which were created for cars with exhaust...
Depends how far and how good the engine is the k20 engine is different than a Clio and can take 300hp on stock internals as its a better engine.
Idealy want somehting bigger as you don't want to overspin the charger.
Engine code is on the the front of the engine block facing towards the radiator. Will be D4F 712 or similar.
What do you mean are they pros and cons are you swopping the engine? If so then make sure the one your getting is similar else you'll end up swopping looms and aux belt stuf if you...
