All of the above is true i tells ya!
no, sadly it is.
What do i do and why do i know........lnog background and itll put you to sleep mate.
Lets just say cars have been my life.
again King, you ask for all sorts of evidence, but to what reasoning do YOU think your car works better on those tyres, WHY did ren choose them, how did they co-operate with michelin, and like most manufacturers there was probaly a price subsidy involved.
They also picked the crankshaft out...
you do that stan, your one in a million already following that path.
And im sure all the tuners on here and out there are glad to know they are merely grease monkeys playing with pennies.
Ditto and bingo.
When i say best, being from a racing background, i mean fastest.......sure pig horrid isnt nice, which is why the rd car is a compramise....not bad one, a good one.
But again, they will repeat themselves saying *in a poindexsters voice* "the williams was setup to work...
yes, shame he can talk the talk but hes never there when people need help changing a bearing, or a gearbox. Yet hell happilly tell you how a head should flow and what factors determine peak this and that, but can he tell you how to do it........*again, wheres these blasted roll eyes*lol
care to elaborate on your idea of going round a corner stan.....
what camp are you going to pitch at, the going round as fast as possible refraining from any worries about how horrible it is to drive, or the lets do it sideways and fun. Because there is a time and place for each.
A stock ECU mappedto GrpN regs, i.e. standard to an extent bar a few fueling, ignition and rpm changines. Basically the same as any other off the shelf chip.
And for the cup/172 owners......their car was designed around the contisport.....i dont see anybody complainig about changing tyre on that.
And sufficiently MORE time was spent on the 172/cup chassis than the willy.
Again, i see it as a die hard willy thing.
Some people are just...
So, if we change the tyre, why cant we change the system; to work better with this.
And its not a miricle tyre, it doesnt fantastically transform the chassis. The michelins are softer its less edgy with them on. And what is less edgy good for, yes thats right.....the road and common road users.
You know King, for a guy whos spent the last year or so constantly asking questions and for help, then turns around to the people who have never once not offered help or advice, after 2 letters and talking to 2 people, has now become the leading authoity.
Sure i dont claim to profess the holy...
No, not many dirvers can get anywhere near the limits of the average sports hatch/car.
BUT, that doesnt mean that they cant upgrade or change to what they prefer, feel is better/safer for themselves and ultimately be able to go faster with a different setup.
its the top of the strut rubbing against the strut tower. There is an actis report suggesting a modification to the strut tower (removing a little material to generate clearance).....
Not heard of it on the MK1 though, unless its the top engine mount problem, we had a fair amount of them...
yea, but it wasnt installed on the road was it ;)
My setup is on a single mild steel plate i fabricated to hold everything, one earth, one neg lead and thats is. 2 10mm bolts, its off and in the bush.
we have a little chinese man in teh gearbox overhaul room, and hes always in there, on the floor, govered in box oil (never mind the cancer!) with baulk rings, synchros, shafts all over....grinning........boxes go in, then come out new lol!
