^^ Its only 4 extra 10mm bolts lol Far better to take it off and use a bit of wood between the jack and the sump. Everyone has there own way of doing things suppose
Not sure about that. Look at it this way, to be on the saftey latch in the first place the normal catch has to have failed or the bonnet not shut correctly. Cant see a mass Reanult re-call and replacement because folk arent closing their bonnets correctly ..
Think its more when the catch is...
Exactly.
You have to watch with these MOT's. Lot of dodgy garages and main dealers on the con.
Theres one near me (main dealer not Renault) that is famous for inventing problems
Majority of folk run 5w40. Guessing what you saw with the Halfords was evidence of the poor quality rather than the grading.
End of the day Halfords / Comma is s**t basic oil. You can do a lot better for hardly much more outlay.
Mobil 1, 28 quid from TMS
I had that kind of CAF material on the old Viper kit. Lasted about a year before it started to rust the inner wire and cut the material to shreads.
Far better off with flexi ducting from Homebase. Cheaper too ;)
Think theres a lot of issues regarding this as to who got letters, why some folk didnt and what they actually do ie oil or replace.
I was told that there is too types of mechanism.
Iv got a spare VVT solenoid thing kicking about. Might be worth a swap over.
Still think that missfire was a bit strange after they fitted the cams. Funny how the plugs had been fine thousands of miles prior up to that point, then 30 miles later after having the cams fitted their screwed...hmmmm
Its a strange one Paul. Compressions fine, timings spot on and theres no signs of a HG prob. That 5k kick thing has ironed out a bit also. Not sure if that could be due to the new lifters bedding in.
Can the cams be fitted the wrong side ie inlet cam where the exhaust cam should be visa versa ?
Thats incorrect. From 2001 (not sure what month) the shift light was deleted. I have a circular dished out to Renault dealers explaining. Found out after i complained mine didnt have one lol
Yours must have been built earlier than 2001 and registered in March 2001?
A lad i know couldnt get under 15 seconds on the quarter in a relatively (not totally) standard one. :o:dead:
Turbo torque makes the car feel quicker than what they actually are. Tune them up proper and its a different story
Still gains to be had from RS ones. Only difference between non RS and RS inlet is the difference prior to port work depending on the cast. After gives the same end result
RS inlets are only any good if you want the best from a stock car
Few posts kicking about with the actual weights but iirc back seats are around 15 kgs so not much weight in them although every little helps..
Front seats are pretty heavy by all accounts. Sure their around 30 - 40 kgs mark?
