Say it was serviced at a Renault garage, do Renault still replace / sort bonnets under the 12 year anti-corrosion ?? :S
I mean you could easy get a stone chip that rusts through which is just one of those uncontrollable things that could happen at any time in a cars life under 'wear and tare'
Watch the price of Evo and Type R Recaro's shoot up thanks to this guide lol
Good work fella. Bit better than paying a grand for the Clio versions
Yeah get the pics up :)
Basically you need to remove door card and surrounding trim (corner piece near mirror and long door trim.
Vague guide:
Speaker also needs to come out.
Interior door handle needs to come off.
Work along the bottom and take the torx screws out. Think theres one up the side too...
LOL depends what your after. Modded every other area of the car so might as well get the best air intake
Maxogen is probably pointless for someone only gonna be doing basic breathing mods but if your gonna be spending **** loads, might as well
2118's weigh a ton.
Here's mine own findings with the old dears scales:
2118's with Yoko Parada's = 17kgs
2118's with Goodyear Eagle F1's = 18kg
OZ Superleggera 7x15 with Toyo 888's = 13kgs
OZ F1 Cup (ph1 172) with Uniroyal = 13kgs (worn tyre)
OZ F1 Cup (ph1 172) with Hanc**k = 14kgs
OZ...
Iv been running this set up for a few years. Bit of a marmite reaction. Have a look on my posts and you'll find the pics.
My photobucket albums brimming so you'll probably be quicker doing that than me trying to hunt lol
They did used to do 2118's in 16'' form.
It all depends what you want. If you want it to handle well on the road, probably a Koni / Eibach set up is your best.
If you want a compromise between looks and handling, Apex springs and Koni shocks all round.
If your gonna do track days or like it totally decked then coilovers might be...
You can get it cheaper than that ;)
Try 350 new :)
It is a lot of money yeah but you make a good percentage of it back if you come to sell, it is a super piece of kit, very very well made and you know that youve bought one of the best if not the best!
Well done on your new toy. Youve made a good choice.
Avoid painting bits and adding tat though. They look the best left alone.
Personally i wouldnt bother with coilovers unless your doing track days. Their rock hard, cost a lot more, you'll be slower cross country (bumping all over the...
Dont be silly. They dont cost £450. You'll be telling us next you have a 500bhp Clio and a 6 inch penis :rasp:
I thought the mag feature was ok to a point. Showed like for like IK's and the differences that can be seen between types.
No point testing a Maxogen or a CDA. - Car would have...
Old Fords always go up in Value. Just look at mk1 / 2 Escorts.
Fiesta mk1 and 2's are starting to climb the price ladder just now but there's still bargains to be found. Wont last long though
Never been in a position to use the ABS on the road in 106 thousand miles of driving in the ph1 and if a danger situation did happen the chances of actually being quick enough to react, weigh up the situation and then swerve round all in 0.0000001 of a second to avoid the object, the whole point...
Aim for a et 38 offset aka Cup offset. That imo is the best for a Clio Sport being the widest track available factory stock
Not sure what your wheel offset is just now but say its a et43, a 5 mm spacer will get you et38
EG:
et43 plus 5mm spacer = offset of 38 (43 - 5 = 38)
Only accurate way of measuring a big power engine is to whip the lump out and strap it to a engine dyno.
Iv been at the said RR when i had problems with the car and with in a 3 week period had and 3 different RR sessions all of them test runs ended up with 3 different bhp results and from...
Back in the day it used to be fit the biggest wheel you could get in the arches but over time folk realised that apart from looks, they slow the car down, cost more for tyres, make it handle like a dog and can put strain on the suspension components.
With the right choice of 15'' wheel you can...
Chances are the inlet has a narrower bore than that of a Clio (1.8 VVC engine?) maybe?
I questioned the fit size etc etc when i was in the process of buying mine and ITG said their model spacific, not just the fitting kit.
Im sure your not a loony lefty and have heard swearing before and it clearly wasnt directed at you yourself. Quite obvious that ''someone'' hint hint could be a bit bitter towards this RR dont you think ;)
Belive Muppet Sports Corsa is quite well known and is no question, one seriously quick...
They dont sell the outer boxes seperate, or didnt used to and getting hold of just the box part, Clio fit, will be just about impossible on the 2nd hand market
Try re-setting the ecu and see if that helps a bit
When all said and done youve fitted a IK which in theory is freeing up the air supply over stock (potentially running lean aka drop in power) so might need the fueling adjusting (remap) to suit.
Could be that the there's less overlap in the...
Have a look through the search. Millions of topics on this subject
While on the subject of IK's, theres a group test feature in the back of a mag (cant mind the name) out this month based on a ph2 172 - dosent feature the Maxogen though but has the Viper all be it half set up
Think this is in the correct section? :o
Is it common for a Clio Sports handbrake cables to need replacing??
tightened mine up about 5 times over a year period and after a few days gradually works its way slack again (lever has to be pulled up very high) even though i tighten it up and...
