Nah you have to listen to the engine bay, you CAN hear the clunk from the cabin but its not very loud. You should also be able to hear the air-con spin down when you switch it off.. sounds like a quiet supercharger spinning down. Mine also didnt work initially, had 2 pipes replaced that...

I found a really simple solution.. I never smoke in my 172.. ever.. When you get in in the morning it doesnt smell stale and everything hasnt turned yellow ! Once you get the seat fixed consider stopping smoking in the car.

Its only the offset on the wheels that are 5mm bigger, put cup wheels on a 172 and its got the same track..

Renault Customer Serivces, phone them..tell them your predicament and the fact that a faulty part was replaced but the related parts were not fitted and your delear is refusing to pay for them to be fitted. Worth a try.

You should really disconnect the battery completly if you car will be sitting still for 6 months. Also it might be worth putting it on axle stands to stop the tyres getting flat spots. *edit* nevermind about that, mis-read, thought you were going for 6 months in a months time..lol
