Looking At Re-entering The RenaultSport World...

I agree. Someone polishes a car to within an inch of its life, puts it up way overpriced and everyone on CS justifies it even though the belts are due in 6 months! £1200 sounds a fair offer on your old car.

Gaz.'s Honda Accord Type R (VTEC Kicked in etc)

Good to see you're doing a good job of tidying it up! That was all I thought it needed by my initial comment. Saw a pal of mine the other day who has been running one of these for a few weeks, it's a dark purple/aubergine colour, lovely car!

How does it compare to the PH1? Any nicer to drive?

Are all Mk2 sump trays the same?

French cars have ALWAYS got some residue around the sump or engine/gearbox join, mine has yet it never appears to lose a drop of oil on the dipstick! Funny thing is those sump tray bolts cost about £4 each from Renault LOL.

    Fitting dogbone mount

Hi all, Got a polybushed dogbone mount, are these easy enough to fit? I've got the whole mount with the polybush in situe so don't need to faff about with that bit which I've heard can be a fiddle. Is it just a case of getting under, unbolting the old one and bolting the new one in? I don't...

    Eric the Ph1.

This gives me hope! Mines on 112k and racking up the miles! Doesn't feel too old though, still feels pretty handy.

How much do you spend on fuel a month?

For sure! I'm going to guess your commute is circa 30 miles each way and you do about 50 miles at the weekend too lol?

How much do you spend on fuel a month?

About £280 :(! £60 a week to work and back, then another £10 pottering around at weekends. Car achieves about 36/37 mpg.

    Brothers fiesta

I like it. Looks kinda retro with those wheels, like something ford would have fitted to the early mk1's in the late 1970s. It's certainly clean.

Iceberg Phs1... just a few pics.

Bet that doesn't work too badly. The problem with Apex springs is that they're not a good match for standard dampers, with uprated Koni's though I can imagine it's a different story maybe?

Looks nice, get the fog lights back in though, they're a feature of that ph1 bumper.

    Slight hesitation and sluggishness 172

Last changed the oil less than 1500 miles ago using Fuchs 5w40 stuff from Opie. Always run it on super unleaded too. Think you're right about the plugs though, I don't know when it would have last had some (if any) though it is on 112k. Interesting to hear that they all hesitate from cold. I...

    Slight hesitation and sluggishness 172

Ahh, do these have two? I wouldn't know which one mate just know its had one in the past from an old invoice. It doesn't misfire as such just hesitates a little through the rev range, it goes away once warmed up but then seems a little sluggish, like the handbrakes partially on!! Other thought...

    Slight hesitation and sluggishness 172

Hi, My 172,which has always felt very responsive and lively has got a bit sluggish seemingly in the last week or so. I also notice it's a bit surgy or hesitant in the lower revs from cold, not that I ever take it past around 3.5k before it's warmed up anyway. It's doing no better than about...

    Harphamominom's Ph1 Project - sunflower content p12 onwards

Best set up is standard mounts with uprated dogbone so many on here say. Could imagine it being harsh with uprated mounts all round.

Gaz.'s Honda Accord Type R (VTEC Kicked in etc)

The pictures. Only little things but stuff like the engine bay, grubby headlights, interior look a bit worn, shiny steering wheel etc. Plus Gaz said it needed oil topping up. Nothing that can't be sorted fairly easily, now you've asked me to describe why I sound like I'm slagging it off (I'm...
