Right now all its got on it are a green panel filter, going to order either a Scorpion 4" single or a Magnex 3.5"x2 when my over time cash comes in, may also get a de-cat at same time.
Since there has been a large number of posts about the R Sport ltd ECU (Group N’ ECU, hill power ECU) I thought id give my findings.
When I first got the ECU fitted I did think it made it slightly faster and have better throttle response (all in my head) however about a month ago I had to...
I have a R SPORT ECU and had to remove it for some warrenty work and I can truthfully say you cant tell its not in there (apart from lower limit) I have also raced a Cup (ktec exhaust) when I had the chip on there and he actually beat me by half a car 30-110 (with me pulling on him a bit in 3rd...

So I would need a de-cat, modded inlet manifold, exhaust, viper, cams, and remapped ECU to get to 200 hp? I am planning on keeping mine for ages so will have all the above in time.:)
Well mine was RR @ 180 hp so what does that do to the p/w/r 182 vs my Cup :D
Most "good" Cups will easily make 172 hp FFS they can do mid 14 1/4 miles!
Has anyone fitted a Scorpion to a 172 b4?

From what I remember from the weight bridge the mark 2 172 weighs 1090 kg as well.. I would take those figures with a pinch of salt remember when the 172 mark 2 first came out they said it weighed 1040 kg...
Think your thinking about the mark 1 there, cant see the mark 2 being near as bad considering its actually a good car with the performance and handling to back up the looks.
But surely if you take it in for a service they will update the software on your ECU and do a fault check on it, then when they check it out and find the ECU has been swapped they may report it to Renault and try and null the warrenty on the engine.
I was told ages ago that the ECU was approved like many others at the time, after all R SPORT LTD are a Renault approved dealer so why wouldn’t people believe them.
Since then I have spoken to Renault Customer services and they phoned R SPORT for me and confirmed it’s not warranty approved. I...
