I did my car with stage 1 the other day and some parts with stage 2. I then left the car for a while as Ive got finals at the minute, but found enough time to coat the rest of the car with stage 2 and some with stage 3.
Initially, I was dead impressed - my car is pearlescent black. The...
I colour-coded my standard spoiler and run some Phase2s now. Looks nice and original. Heres a photo (bear in mind its on a funny slope, so the back is a lot lower really):

My 1995 Renault Clio manual says 95 or 98ron is recommended for the entire petrol fuel injected range.
Its 91-98ron for the unleaded carb models and 91-97ron for 4-star/unleaded carb models (not sold in the UK AFAIK).
My mates surname is Williams, so when his daughter was on the way and they were asking for suggestions...there was only one thing I could say!
Cleo Williams!
(Chloe Williams isnt far off either)
Anyway, they didnt take kindly to it, and called her Isabel instead!!!
I would go for a VTS unless you can afford to run/insure a Valver. Cant go wrong for £10k and free insurance really!
The 1.6 16v was initially called the "16v", then "RSi" in Mk2 Phase1. At the end of Phase1 and now in Phase2, its just another engine option for the various trim levels. Its...
Theres certainly a lot of talk about GT Turbo conversions in Clios at the minute, but I would say youd prefer the real thing unless you put a GT Turbo lump in a shagged-engined Valver. A basic spec Clio obviously isnt going to be able to handle the GT Turbo power properly with a little bit of...
On the 1.2 Energy engines (which surely arent too dis-similar to the 1.4 Energy?), the solenoid is a fairly well known problem. When this happened to my old Mk1 1.2, I was told by Renault just to give it a bash. Gave another 30k of faithful service, until sold the car.
My gbox is doing fine at 100k miles, whines a little but nothing to worry about. My flatmates lasted til 130k, when it was damaged by a flood he drove into!
With regard to the seat belt - its just the reel mechanism that goes; the operation of the belt is fine (not that Ive had cause to test it!!).
£3200 seems reasonable for a Phase2, but just make sure its a good un. Maybe get a 16v owner to go with you to have a look at any car youre...
The F7P (1764cc 16v) and F7R (1998cc Williams) engines are very similar. The main differences are in the bottom end - like the crank and so on - so nothing youd really notice in general servicing. The inlet manifolds and heads are of the same design, although the Willy has 32mm inlet valves...
The car above is a V70R - proper firebreather! (V = estate; S = saloon)
Basically, the 850 was facelifted and called the S/V70 for a couple of years before the rounded Mk2 V70 came in. The T5 badge has been worn by a number of versions of the 2.3 5-cylinder turbo engine. But theyre all...
Yeah, speaking from previous experience, I can absolutely guarantee that Big Brother is watching these forums. You just have to hope that its not the ones from the north west. I got harassed as a "cruise organiser" by our friends at Avon & Somerset Police when my rep status covered...
Yeah, most Volvos drink fuel. The old ones in particular, like Saabs, are very idiosyncratic machines. They dont see 0-60 as important, so they gear cars to overtake best at 50-70 - and if it has a low 0-60 or high top speed, its a bonus.
All my family that I can think of have Volvos: a...
Fairly easy, just let your engine get to normal operating temperature and then pull over and idle the car. Make sure its in neutral - and then bury your accelerator pedal to the floor. If its an RT, it will have a rev counter and you will see it swing right up over 6000rpm. At some point it...
Ive looked into the Delta Integrale before - and even a totally shagged Evo will never be as low as £4k.
For that money youll get an OK Delta 4WD, dodgy Delata HF Integrale 8v or a dog-eared Delta Integrale 16v. Most Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione (1 & 2) will be the far side of £10-15k...
From my experience, both the F3P 1.8 8v engines are very messy as well - youd have real trouble relocating stuff if you were getting serious with the mods.
Sure, its got potential. But just ask anyone with a chip, induction and exhaust to show proof of a 16% increase (15bhp in this case) in power on a non-turbo car!! The most youll really get is about 5bhp, especially as a single-point injection will not respond that well to a chip. People...
Tell your insurance company and ask to be put in touch with the Motorists Insurance Bureau. A bit of your premium will have gone to fund these people, who try to help out with accidents like this where the party at fault has buggered off. Moreover, if you can get evidence of the car that did...
