I think realistically youll get 105-115mph and maybe a higher indicated speed. Just dont be surprised if you see 120mph on the clock, but still have large articulated vehicles and campervans overtaking you!!

My car has real trouble getting over 127mph indicated! My old Mk1 1.2 used to get 115mph indicated, which was just a flaming bag of poo and untruth. My mate would overtake me in his 16v and say his clocks said he was doing 100mph!

If a 1.2 can do 127mph then Im selling my Valver!!! Whats the point in me having a hot hatch when a 1.2 with nearly 100bhp less and a bit more weight can go just as fast!!!!????:D

The front arches are not plastic on Mk1 Clios (except for the 16v/Willy). My old Mk1 1.2 was lowered to the floor on 16s and I had no end of trouble with rubbing at the back - but never at the front. 15s fitted and handled better.

If its a Clio Mk1 and has a torsion bar set up, Id let a specialist do it. It should be OK if its a Mk2 Clio though (coil shocks all round?).

Nicky - I had the same problem as you. I attempted it again, but pulled really hard this time - and the speedo cable came out no problems! Then you need to pull out the other wiring connectors too.

I think he might have meant the anti-roll bar bushes (£10 plus fitting) or anti-roll bar mounts (again, relatively inexpensive).

If its a Mk2 Phase1 Grande, then it should be a 1.2 8v. Some of the later Phase1s where 1.2 16vs.

I would say that a GT Turbo transplant into a 16v would make a fine car as all the suspension/handling/braking/durability is already there to handle the power. But a Clio 1.2/1.4 etc with a GT Turbo engine in will take some work on these areas before it could be said to be "better" than a...

No!!! Its my Valver!! Spot also the Valver bumpers, spoiler and leather interior! Just put it up to show that a standard Valvers wheels dont really fill the front arches much. So if you stick Valver arches on an RT (which has a narrower front track) the wheels will get lost!
